Marruk Urli
"Commander LeFleur?". Marruk Urli raises his glass. "She's more than just a commanding officer to most of us. Much more. A goddamn war hero, she is. And not just to me. LeFleur played a major role during UNIHORDE back then at the beginning of YC116."

You heard of this war operation before, but details are not known to you. But Marruk Urli doesn't let you wait, or even ask for an explanation.

"You know, back in YC114 to YC116 the pirates became a real nuisance. Wardeccing everyone who could not shoot back, or was too inexperienced to stand up against them. Always flying in packs, never alone. Overwhelming our students, destroying their ships, killing them in their pods, probably selling their frozen corpses to the Blood Raiders afterwards. But that changed in that memorable year, when the Uni had enough and managed to cut them off from their supplies. LeFleur herself has been involved in over a hundred attacks against their custom offices in Amarr Empire space, and the HSC didn't lose a single ship or soul in this war. All thanks to her leadership. Here's to LeFleur!"

Urli raises his glass again, but before he can drink from it, the current stock market broadcasts on the many video screens in the station bar get interrupted by a special announcement.

The broadcast ends and the stock market reports continue. Only the sound of the video displays can be heard, everyone in the bar remains in shock and silence.

A loudspeaker crackles, then LeFleurs voice echoes through the station.

"Fellow unistas!

As you have witnessed, a bit of trouble emerged in the Solitude region. It looks like the factional warfare which was caused by the Yulai attacks is still not enough for some warlords. We have reports that the Ratillose system in Solitude has gone hot. Amarrian Heir Uriam Kador has launched a personal invasion of the Gallente Federation. The unprovoked attack follows a series of misdirection actions by the Kador fleet in the last 24 hours. Heavy fighting is underway in the Ratillose System on the Federation side of the border, which is home to at least two Federation Navy bases.

Since this confrontation happens in Solitude, which is a Highsec island near the Null Security Campus, this is none of our business. At least as long as Uriam Kador and his misguided followers stay there. The NSC has already sent scout ships to Ratillose, and the Project Solitude HQ in Vecodie has also raised the security level to DEFCON 2.

Nevertheless, I decided to treat this event accordingly and the HSC will raise security to DEFCON 4. The reason behind this is simple: Something smells fishy here. Normally, Uriam Kador seems to be more interested in philosophy than in the affairs of state; he is renowned as an orator and writer, but is not particularly distinguished as a leader. He has also had not-exactly-secret affairs with a number of Gallente women, which isn't particularly good for his image either. Of course, his incompetence as a military leader could explain this mess he creates now, but I think it is unlikely. There might be more going on, and since Verge Vendor lies within Gallente Space, like Solitude does, we need to be prepared.

So get your ships and jump clones ready, they might be needed on short notice. Have a nice day.... oh, and if you see Starhopper somewhere, send him to the nearest intercom, I need to talk to him. Over and out."

You contact LeFleur, as she demanded.

"Freshman, good to see you. We received your file from the Sisters of Eve Biomass Resources Department in Arnon IX. It mentions that you are in search of a certain Amarrian hero, Professor Morghulis?"

Yes, I am. Low priority, though. It's not like I am getting paid for it, you know...

LeFleur interrupts you. "Sorry, but I don't have much time. I am not sure if I can really assist you in this matter, but Morghulis has been visiting the HSC a few months ago. He was searching for some kind of relic. He's been sure that it's somewhere in Verge Vendor and he wanted to know if one of our standing fleets has encountered something which matches his description. We didn't, but I made a note and promised to contact him in case we stumble over this relic, but until now we didn't find anything. So I can't tell you the exact location, but he described it as a, quote: 'A set of ancient stones, organized into groups which form a ritualistic circle around an energy source, which may simultaneously exist and not exist.'"

Huh? Sounds like quantum mechanics.

"Yes, but this doesn't make much sense, right? A stable energy source of quantum particles? Crap, that's impossible. Stuff for fairy tales. But nevertheless, I thought you might be interested in this. Have a look around in Verge Vendor, maybe you can find something which fits his description... and maybe you can find something which might help you on your search. But be careful out there, a lot of organized pirates roam the region lately, maybe you want to ask for some help within our chat channel. You're dismissed, Freshman. Have a nice day."
