| Welcome to the frontline. You may not see it, but it's here all the same. I was sent out here three months ago to take care of a 'minor pirate problem', as I was told. It was only supposed to take a month, but I'm still here and I don't think I'll be going home any time soon. See that station, or what's left of it, over there? That station was supposed to be our headquarters. It was sabotaged a month ago, someone infiltrated the station and planted one big bomb in its bowels. I was one of the lucky few out on a patrol that day, or my body would by floating around here along with the rest.
I'm telling you, it's a total mess around here at the moment. Poor Murchor over there is trying to install some order, but he's in way over his head. Me? I'm just trying to stay alive in all this chaos. A lot of soldiers have fled and I can't blame them. But I'm not a deserter. All I can do is try to do my job and hope it will get easier. Like the Republic actually acting up on its promise to send reinforcement out here. There are pirates all around here, and something much more. But I'm mainly concerned with the pirates; they're my top priority. And I want to make them your top priority too. I'll pay you good money to bring me some Hacker ID Slices. These hacker scums have been causing us all sorts of trouble, lurking in the shadows all the time. It wouldn't surprise me if they are behind the sabotage of the station. You can find them in the contested military complex in this system, and elsewhere too. |
