Role Overview

The Structure Operations Lead is responsible for managing the deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of structures within the portfolio of EVE University, Ivy League, and its holding alliances. They ensure structure operations align with organisational goals and policies while supporting the diverse needs of the corporation’s communities.

This includes oversight of corporate donation asset management, working with various staff teams to ensure donations made via Biomassed characters and corporate hangar items are well utilised. Additionally, the Structure Operations Lead supports the Director of Strategy and Resources with the sale and acquisition of structures, and maintenance of structures in Alliance Auth.

Key Responsibilities

Structure Management

  • Oversee the anchoring, unanchoring, rigging, and fitting of all structures within the EVE University portfolio.
  • Ensure structure placement and configuration meet operational and strategic goals.
  • Maintain rigging standards and recommend upgrades based on community and operational needs.
  • Ensure structures are properly registered and maintained in Alliance Auth.

Asset and Office Oversight

  • Review and manage the distribution of corporate offices across structures and NPC stations.
  • Identify and coordinate the relocation, consolidation, or disposal of assets in NPC stations, ensuring alignment with corporate policies.
  • Facilitate asset shipping, corporate donations, or disposal as appropriate.

Collaborative Alignment

  • Collaborate with teams, students, management, and other stakeholders to align structure use, policies, and access with organisational needs.
  • Ensure clear communication and understanding of structure policies across all communities.

Consultancy Support for WHC

  • Provide consultancy and guidance to the Wormhole Community on structure management practices, as needed.
  • Respect the WHC’s autonomy in managing its structure pool while ensuring access to resources and expertise.

Sales and Acquisitions

  • Assist the Director of Strategy and Resources with the sale and acquisition of structures as required.
  • Provide strategic input on structure investments and divestments to optimise organisational assets.

Documentation and ACL Management

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all structures, including locations, ACL configurations, and operational details.
  • Develop efficient methods for auditing and updating ACLs to ensure security and accessibility.
  • Regularly review and refine structure management procedures to align with evolving organisational needs.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Upwell structures, POCOs, POSes, anchoring practices, and game mechanics.
  • Experience with ACL management and auditing.
  • Familiarity with Alliance Auth and its structure-related functionalities.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills to work effectively across diverse communities.
  • Ability to document processes and provide clear guidance on structure policies.
  • Willingness to teach and/or mentor others in practices related to this role.

Notes

The portfolio of structures includes all structures under the direct management of EVE University, Ivy League, and its holding alliances. The Wormhole Community (WHC) staff manages its own structure pool day-to-day but works with this role in a consultancy capacity to develop and use best practices.
