The information on this page began with an eP1c p0as+ by steave435 in the Ivy League Ship Setups forum (this talking point p0as+ed in re$p0nse to a w1s3-guy).

This page starts off confusing, and gets better towards the end. I think in particular the beginning could do with a clean up. For example...

" In a dogfighting fit with ACs, ab, web and scram, it can take on most other frigs and even some larger targets and win (watch out for the taranis and all the AF's though). "

To a newbie like me, that means almost nothing. I'm aware of Web and Scram... not sure what an AC is. No idea what a Taranis is, and I'm guessing AF is Assault Frigate or something? All in all, a very confusing sentence for a beginners guide to ships.

I will of course be happy to do the edits myself once I know what they mean ;-) : Targh D'yer 13:55, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

The sentence is referring to a dogfighting fit of the Minmatar frigate, the Rifter. AC means autocannon (which is the Minmatar short-range high-damage projectile weapon system), and AB means afterburner. The Taranis is a Gallente interceptor (with excellent dogfighting capabilities), and you are correct that AF means assault frigate.

Updated that part of the guide, and then went trough the rest of it and clarified other abbreviations. I hope that clears up any confusion :) : Steave435 09:05, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Started adding in links and blurbs for specific ships. Someday want to have everything linked within the wiki, lot of work. --Azalinn 00:46, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Going into specifics about every type of ship within every ship class is useful, however, this guide is intended to give an overall overview by ship class, not ship type. Learning what every ship type can do becomes necessary as you advance in your PVP career, however, as a starting point, just learning general rules about ship classes is enough, and trying to list all ship types within it will just lead to information overload. If you want to create a separate page listing ship types instead, feel free to do so, but keep this one for ship classes. /steave

I agree, most of the more in-depth stuff is being covered in the new "Ships" category setup... this guide might still want to be in that category though. It is nice to have a basic one-page quick reference too, like this Overview. I've added to the description to make the point of the page a little more clear. Some time later it would be good to add links to the more in-depth pages in the appropriate pages so this is not a dead-end page. - Felix riggs 09:53, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Did some linking up at the ends of things... most of the new ships pages use info from this guide, since it was all great info worth reusing. It's a multi-page expansion based off this article really. This might end up getting reverted again, I don't know. Trying to think how a one-page guide, and a multi-page expansion can work together, without there being a ton of unneeded overlap. I figure this is meant to be a brief overlay, and the other pages will have the stats and the in-depth info, as well as links to all the ships. Does that work? - Felix riggs 11:17, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

I was a bit hesitant at first, since some of the info here felt important enough to include even in an overview, like the racial EW differences, but with the links at the end instead, it does get the job done anyway, and makes this easier to follow. Looks good :)
