Hulls, classes and racial

In Eve, there are many ways of doing a task, and it is up to you to decide what the best approach is, and how to fit it. Starting with the ship. A mission boat T1 frigate, is obviously very differently fit then a cruiser missioner, or a battleship. Even in the same class and race, can have quite different ways to accomplish the same goal. When you expand your flying to another race, or another class, it is wise to do some reading and asking other Unistas about it, to get the most out of it and avoid unpleasant surprises.

But briefly, Caldari is heavily missile based, which allows a pilot to switch between all damage types to find holes, shield tanked which is weak to EM and to thermal, big signature so easier for bigger classes of missiles and turrets to hit and slow. Amarr are armour tanked which slows the ship down. They use energy turrets which do EM and thermal damage (Read: nasty against shield ships), heavy on capacitor use but have large capacitors to help. Gallente are armour tanked, use drones in many ships, and also hybrid turrets, which use some capacitor and do kinetic/thermal damage. Minmatarr are some of the most flexible of ships - some can be armour or shield tanked, use missiles or projectile turrets, which use no cap and do explosive damage, some drones, and are mostly quite fast
