Standard Operating Procedures for WHC Scanners (work-in-progress)

  1. Survey results must be documented in the WH-Space Chain Mapper ("Chain Mapper") according to the following rules:
    1. W-Space systems: All cosmic signatures must be documented.
    2. K-Space systems: Cosmic signatures must not be documented.
  2. Survey results must be documented in the Corporation Locations folder of Places ("Corp Bookmarks") according to the following rules:
    1. Innuendo: All cosmic signatures must be documented.
    2. Adjacent C3 system: All cosmic signatures must be documented.
    3. Other W-Space systems: All wormhole signatures must be documented. Other sites may be omitted.
    4. K-Space systems: Cosmic signatures must not be documented.
    5. Note that these rules do not apply to Personal Locations. Scanners should document all wormholes in their Personal Locations, and may document other sites in Personal Locations at their discretion.
  3. The following Corp Bookmark naming conventions must be observed.
      1. In all the following examples, [AAA] represents the first 3 letters of the scan ID.
      2. Use [---] in contexts where the scan ID is not known. (For instance, when bookmarking a wormhole you just jumped through.)
      3. G [AAA] Name of Gravimetric Site
      4. L [AAA] Name of Ladar Site
      5. R [AAA] Name of Radar Site
      6. M [AAA] Name of Magnetometric Site
      7. WH [AAA] [Type] [System Name] (for wormholes)
        1. If the system name is not yet known, it may be omitted. If the type is not yet known, it may also be omitted.
        2. Type must be one of the following: HS, LS, NS, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6
  4. The following Chain Mapper signature conventions must be observed.
    1. Name: The first 3 letters of the scan ID
    2. Additional Info:
      1. For all signatures except wormholes, copy and paste the site name.
      2. For wormholes, enter [Wormhole Type] to/from [System Name]
        1. [Wormhole Type] is the designation such as K162 or B274
        2. [System Name] may be a generic system name if the specific system is not known: "highsec", "lowsec", "nullsec", "C1", "C2", etc.
        3. If the wormhole has not yet been warped to, Additional Info should remain empty.
  5. Upon scanning a cosmic signature to 100%, the following procedure must be followed:
    1. If the signature qualifies for inclusion in the Chain Mapper, add the signature to the system being scanned.
    2. If the signature qualifies for inclusion in Corp Bookmarks, create a bookmark.
    3. If the signature is a wormhole, perform the following additional steps:
      1. Warp to the wormhole.
        1. If the wormhole is one of the Innuendo statics, note the time that warp was initiated.
        2. In the Chain Mapper, update the Info field for the Innuendo system and cite the activation time, according to the following conventions:
          1. HS Static activated 2012.01.01 12:00
          2. C3 Static activated 2012.01.01 12:00
      2. Update the signature in the Chain Mapper to include wormhole type and generic destination in the Additional Info.
      3. Delete the bookmark in Corp Bookmarks and create a new bookmark on the wormhole itself (rather than the scan result). Name the bookmark with the generic destination included.
      4. If it is safe to jump through the wormhole, perform the following steps:
        1. Jump through the wormhole. Note the name of the destination system.
        2. Update the signature in the Chain Mapper to replace the generic destination with the specific system name.
        3. Update the bookmark in Corp Bookmarks and add the system name to the end of the bookmark name.
        4. Create a new bookmark in Corp Bookmarks, on the wormhole object from the other side, with a fully qualfied name. Use [---] for the scan ID.
        5. (TODO: Finish this.)
