Portal to War is a Level 3 mission consisting of five sub-missions. It involves combat with Rogue Drones, the Caldari State, and the Amarr Empire.
Part 1
Mission briefing |
---|
I was assigned a mission from a colleague of mine in <Corporation>, who apparently hasn't been able to solve the investigation of a certain deadspace area in <System>. They found an Amarrian slaver compound inside, as well as a few groups of Caldari State combat ships. Obviously this is a threat that must be dealt with.
There are two questions we must answer, how did our enemies manage to get all their equipment and ships into Servant Sisters of EVE space, completely avoiding our surveillance systems at the stargates. And how big exactly is their complex inside the deadspace area which they've been hiding in. Our problem right now is that the path into the deadspace complex is blocked off by a large armada of Amarrian ships. I seriously doubt you'd be able to handle them, no offense. So your first task is to discover an alternate route into the complex, to avoid direct confrontation with their fleet. I've located an old, abandoned acceleration gate leading into the deadspace area, which I'm pretty sure the Amarrians are not aware of. The only problem is that it leads to an area infested with rogue drones, who nearly wiped out a mining colony there many years ago. You will have to deal with them when you warp inside. After you have used two acceleration gates, you will find yourself in a room with the final gate, which leads to the drone hive itself. Do NOT go through it, under any circumstances. Your task is to simply eradicate all of the rogue drones inside the first few rooms and then report back to me. |

Good work. I've notified our engineers which were on stand-by near the deadspace area to warp inside and start modifying the gate which leads to the Drone Hive. After the modifications it should lead you to the Amarrian complex instead … |
Part 2
Mission briefing |
---|
Our engineers have just about finished modifying the gate that used to lead to the drone hive. It's far enough into the deadspace area to be usable for our little project of connecting it to the Amarr complex. I'm a little worried that I might not send you to the correct location, modifying these gates is always risky, and there's no time to test it.
Your assignment is simple. Get as far into the Amarr complex as you can, and bring back any important info to me. Knowing their positions and strength before we launch our assault would really help. Oh, and one other thing, when you arrive there one of our agents will probably have already gone through the gate. His task was to move the navigational beacon in the Amarr complex room. This will cause the acceleration gate from the slave compound, where we believe most of the Amarr armada is located, to fail. This should give you some extra time to finish your task before reinforcements arrive. But regardless, please complete this mission as fast as possible, or you risk being overwhelmed. |

We’ve reconfigure the acceleration gate I here to send you to the Amarr-Caldari complex. The first room looks like a Caldari outpost, haven’t managed to get into the one beyond.. Good luck in your mission! And remember, you only have a short while before the Amarrian reinforcements arive, so hurry! |
3rd Pocket (Caldari ships)
Acceleration Gate is locked until all hostile ships are destroyed. Despite that you fight Caldari Navy ships, standing loss is from Amarr Empire (no way to avoid it).

Hi, this is your agent speaking. Your ship's computer seems to have picked up a distress signal from a nearby Amarrian entity. I have deciphered it and it is a request for more reinforcements. They might arrive at any minute! Hurry up or you'll be overwhelmed! |

- Amarr fleet is timed and will take approximately 2 hours to spawn.
Agent hand-in message |
---|
So you retrieved a data chip, from one of the control towers. Excellent. I'll have it looked at immediately. |
Notes
- If you destroy the Control Tower, the 2nd and 3rd Reinforcements will not spawn.
- Structures do not drop loot.
- Standing loss for killing Amarr in part 2 is -0.24, this can be avoided by only blasting the Control tower for the chip.
- As of 09-May-YC124, I destroyed only Control Tower in pocket 4 and got 0.24 standing loss from Amarr Empire (no ships were shot). This was in addition to standing loss in pocket 3 (another 0.24 from Amarr).
After mission was complete and standing from agent was increased, another 0.24 standing loss from Amarr Empire - total for part 2 of 5 is 3x 0.24 loss from Amarr !

Mission briefing |

I'm afraid I can't decode the information inside the data chip you recovered from the Amarr complex earlier. You'll have to deliver it to an old friend of mine in <System>, he has the necessary tools to crack the code. Check your journal for further information. |
Part 4
Mission briefing |
---|
The data you retrieved earlier has some very important information. I don't know if the Amarr forces have guessed that the data chip you recovered had survived the explosion of the control tower, but either way we need to move fast while we still have the advantage.
This data directs us to two areas in <system>. One is the deadspace area that you must be familiar with by now, the other area is not in deadspace. I would like you to investigate area two. I will upload a bookmark to it into your journal of course. |

Agent hand-in message |

A Caldari stargate hidden inside a man-made ion field? This is an amazing discovery, <Pilot>. But we must keep this quiet. If the general public hears about this, it may cause mass panic. |
Notes
- Structures do not drop loot.
Part 5
Mission briefing |
---|
In your last mission for me you discovered a Caldari stargate inside <System>. This must be taken care of, before the Caldari fleet manages to bypass our entire defense system. So far they seem to be content with laying low and getting on with their business in Simela, but that could change when they find out they have been discovered.
So don't screw this up, <Pilot>. You have one shot to get this right. The Caldari Fleet could be coming through that gate any minute now, so you need to work fast. Destroy the stargate before the Caldari manage to send more ships through. Our scanners have already detected some activity around the gate, so you will probably have to fend off a few fighters to get the job done. If you can't handle it, then let me know ASAP so I can find someone more suitable. Good luck out there, solider. |
