The gate is not locked.  The majority of the incoming DPS comes from the battlecruisers and battleships, destroying them significantly reduces incoming damage, which can exceed 700 DPS.

Alternatively, you can keep the battleships at around 60-70 km and the battlecruisers at more than 40 km, the DPS is significantly reduced.  Long-range weapons are recommended for this method.

Unlike other DED sites of this rating, the gate in this pocket is unlocked from the beginning. If your ship is fast and can field a strong tank of upwards of ~700 DPS EM/Thermal, you can simply cross the 40 km distance to the gate and skip the pocket entirely.

Slave Ation09 is located around 47 km from the warp-in.
This pocket is the single most dangerous in the site.  The triple stasis tower spawn will web you down to a standstill and make you an easy target for even the battleships to hit, even in fast moving cruisers.  Additionally the weapons range of most of the battleships is very large and the smaller ships will close in quickly. Killing the stasis towers should be your highest priority, unless you can field at least 500 DPS/tank with over 80% EM/Thermal resists, in which then you can opt to immediately snipe the overseer. Once the towers die the rest of the fleet is significantly easier to speed-tank.
