It seems you can skip the room and activate the gate with a Guristas diamond tag in your cargo.

Attacking the deeps space stronghold triggers a EM smartbomb dealing roughly 4000 damage with a range of at least 101 km. Warping out doesn't reset the smartbomb, which means you may warp out. repair and come back in without needing to get damage from the smartbomb again. |
