Abyssal Battlefields are the Abyssal sites for Capsuleer Day XXI. The sites come in four tiers and require special event filaments. The event filaments are manufactured by capsuleers using the blueprints and materials obtained from event sites like Desolate Collapsed Conduit (hacking) and Treacherous Collapsed Conduit (combat), the Abyssal hacking sites and the Abyssal sites themself.
The naming of the filaments functions similarly to the regular Abyssal filaments with the first part indicating the tier and the second part indicating the weather (Electric, Exotic, etc) having the same effects as regular filaments.
Time and space limits
- Only one filament is required to create the conduit to enter the Abyssal battlefields, regardless of whether one ship or two are entering.
- Every Abyssal deadspace pocket has a 30-minute time limit to kill the battleship and its cohorts that lie within, with a guaranteed ship and pod loss should the timer expire.
- To complete the first and only deadspace pocket, you must kill the commanding battleship to unlock the Origin Conduit.
- The boundary around the event battlefields appears with a blue graphical effect which becomes more obvious the closer you fly toward it. Unlike the red boundary in ordinary abyssal deadspace beyond which the player's ship will explode, this blue boundary will teleport the player to the opposite side of the arena.
- Unlike regular Abyss sites the event sites have only one weather type per tier.
Clouds
Like Abyssal deadspace, the event pockets may contain Abyssal clouds, listed below.
Anti-Tachyon cloud
Purple-ish cloud that provides the following effects to all ships inside:
- 100% ship inertia increase
- 67% ship speed decrease
- 100% signature radius decrease

Recommended fits for T1 filaments
Here are a few example fits that work well solo in the Tier 1 combat filaments (Sinister Exotic Filaments). All of these fits can be used with an Alpha account. Fundamentally all of these fits work the same way, you should orbit the NPC battleship at 500m with your afterburner and use the webifier against the battleship. That way the Battleship should no longer be able to hit you and you can take your time to kill all the frigates when they spawn and whenever there are no frigates, keep shooting the battleship. Note: These ships are capable of running Tier 2 combat filaments solo, but you need some experience and good skills. It is not recommended to use these fits in Tier 2 filaments solo.

Recommended fits for T2 filaments
Tier 2 combat filaments (Vicious Electrical Filaments) are significantly harder that their Tier 1 counterparts, mainly because they spawn 2 very high damage missile turrets at long range, usually somewhere between 60 and 80km from the entry point. Fortunately these turrets have very little hitpoints, so the challenge is to be able to hit them at all. The example fits in this section utilize certain rigs and modules to allow you to target and engage those turrets from long range. Depending on your skills you might still have to move a few kilometers, so make sure to check both your target locking as well as your weapon (or drone control) range before you activate the filament and then move into range of the turrets if neccessary. You will need to kill the turrets first, then proceed in the same way as in the Tier 1 sites: Orbit the battleship at close range, kill frigates and eventually kill the battleship. The initial damage in these sites is rather high, but it gets much easier once the turrets are destroyed and you settle into a close orbit around the battleship.

Recommended fit for T3 filaments
Below is one tried and tested fit to run the Tier 3 combat filaments (Disastrous Gamma Filaments) solo. The idea with this fit is very simple, yet effective. All you do is tank all the damage with a massive passive recharge tank while your drones kill the turrets, the frigates and eventually the battleship. You do still want to remove the turrets right at the start (ideally with sentry drones, but it can be done with light or medium drones as well), then use any combination of light and medium drones to remove the frigates and eventually the battleship. There is no point in trying to catch up or even orbiting the battleship while using this fit, so don't bother. Just slowboat to any EDENCOM wreck if there are any and then sit next to the Origin Conduit while you reassign your drones from time to time to kill any newly spawned frigates. And you can use a Mobile Tractor Unit to scoop up the battleship loot.
Note: If you don't have enough CPU for this fit, it is recommended to downgrade or maybe even remove the guns before removing any of the other modules. Taking out any of the other modules would significantly impact your tank, the guns on the other hand are not crucial to this ship.
