Although EVE University had taken forays into wormhole space previously (notably with [[Division 6]] and a previous failed attempt to establish a wormhole campus), in summer 2012 talks among EVE University management were initiated to establish a new Wormhole Campus. In October 2012 the final decision to go forward was made and the [[Wormhole Campus]] began preparation to open its doors once more.
