EVE University Fight Club (UFC) is a solo 1v1 PvP event primarily run in Slays, the system adjacent to the Main Community campus in Stacmon.

What is Fight Club?

In Fight Club, pilots in tech 1 frigates engage in 1v1, Unista vs. Unista sanctioned duels for the enrichment and blood-sating of our members. The goal of Uni Fight Club is to build general piloting and PvP skills in a controlled, supportive, and friendly atmosphere as well as having a great deal of fun. UFC is a long-standing traditional event in EVE University that finds its roots in EVE University history. At one time, when EVE Uni was based in Aldrat, the Libold system was dedicated as a frigate free-for-all system for Unistas. Contemporary Uni Fight Club descends from and continues this EVE University tradition.

What takes place at Fight Club?

  • EVE Uni Fight Club (UFC) uses a collection of corporation bookmarks in Slays to demarcate the fighting arenas.
  • There are two separate fighting grounds consisting of four arenas allowing up to eight simultaneous 1v1 contests. The arenas are named after Unistas who ran Fight Club in the past or named systems in null sec.
  • Participants and Spectators warp to UFC The Octagon - Bleachers at the beginning of the event. The Bleachers are at the center of four arenas, serving both as a ready room and spectator area.
  • The host will review the rules and procedures with everyone as well as answer questions.
  • At the beginning of a round, the host asks for x-ups from pilots who wish to compete in that round. The host then pairs contestants for that round and assigns them an arena to fight in, for example "Jack RipperJr, Psychotic Ficikity CLOVER".
  • With their arena assigned, the two participants approach the center bookmark of that arena, for example UFC 1 CION - Center bookmark.
  • After verifying that everyone is aligning to their proper bookmark, the host counts down the fight (5, 4, 3, 2, 1...FIGHT)
  • Each participant then warps to one of the three bookmarks (Red, Center, or Blue) in their arena at 0km. Combat commences upon exiting warp.
  • After combat, the contestants discuss the fight and talk about their perspective on the fight, what they thought went well, and what could have gone better. Other players are welcome to add their insights and suggestions.

Fight Club Rules

  • All fights are 1v1 in empire frigates (Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, Minmatar). Specifically, UFC-eligible ships must be
    • Tech 1 empire frigates with Tech 1 modules (meta 4 or below)
    • Base Tech 1 ammunition and charges
    • The one exception being T2 Damage Control modules which are allowed.
  • While EVE University provides properly fitted ships free on contract for the event, you are welcome to bring fits of your own design as long as they are compliant with the rules.
  • Pilots must use a clean clone. Implants or drugs are not permitted.
  • Fights are to 25% of structure, but a pilot may concede the fight at any time. Fights may be to the death of the ship by prior agreement.
  • Respect each other's surrenders
  • There is a strict no podding rule in UFC.
  • A pilot may warp off if they wish to end the engagement. By warping off, the duel finishes in a draw. Since pilots are allowed to escape, bring tackle mods if you want to kill anything!
  • Fights will randomly start at 20km, 10km, or 0km - nobody knows the starting range until you get there!

This is intended to be a live-fire exercise that is as realistic as possible. Fight Club offers the opportunity to learn weapons systems, manual piloting techniques, tackling, and other practical PvP skills.

Ship Replacement Program

For pilots who choose to to bring their own ships to UFC, Fight Club T1 frigate losses are fully reimbursable through the Uni's Ship Replacement Program (SRP). You can use this form to apply for SRP. Specifics are listed here.

Want to Host Fight Club?

  • Get in touch with a community manager or coordinator and offer to run a session of Fight Club. You will get help understanding what you need to do for production orders, scheduling, and promotion of your event.
  • Pick a time that sees a lot of activity. Fridays at 19:00 EVE time are good for players in the EUTZ crowd. Times like 01:00 EVE time on a Saturday tend to be a good time for USTZ Unistas.
  • Schedule the event and have fun.
  • Want to just fight? You can hold an ad hoc Fight Club at any time. The UFC Arena bookmarks are available to everyone in EVE Uni. Fly out to the Octagon with a few friends or send a Discord ping to see if other Unistas want to join you.
