It seems you can skip the room and activate the gate with a Guristas diamond tag in your cargo.

Attacking the deeps space stronghold triggers a EM smartbomb dealing roughly 4000 damage with a range of at least 101 km. Smartbomb only triggers once, and warping out does not reset it |
The deep space stronghold has about 500,000 ehp and triggers reinforcement at 30% hull:

- Destroying the deep space stronghold (or the Dread Guristas Eliminator, if it spawns) finishes the site. Deep Space Stronghold drops nothing interesting.
