Overview
Ships with Ship Skins are variations of their standard counterparts. They usually are in the colors of a certain faction or corporation. They have the same attributes, fitting and skill requirements as their siblings.
There are currently two types of skinned ships:
- Special Edition Ships: Ships that were handed out as gifts by CCP for certain events or via certain codes
- Paint Job Ships: Ships that were painted by Players with a Paint Job Blueprint Copy
This article will only cover the Paint Job ships. For the their siblings, check Special Edition Ship.
History
With Rubicon 1.3 CCP Games introduced a Ship Painting Pilot Program. This is a new mechanic that allows players to paint their ships with a BPC. This point release added the first nine ship skins.
With the Kronos Release CCP added eight new ship skins for four pirate factions.
