A large change has been made with the June 2013 Odyssey expansion lowering the requirement to train to Racial Industrial V to Racial Industrial II and raising the requirement to train to Advanced Spaceship Command V instead of ASC I. This means that the first Racial Freighter will take a bit more time to train, but that it will take around 19 hours to train each addition Racial Freighter I skill. It also reduced the requirement for an Iteron V to Gallente Industrial I from V. Another large change was made in September 2013 with Odyssey 1.1 which repurposed some of the industrial ships, converting them from general cargo haulers to specialized haulers with specialized bays.<ref>[http://community.eveonline.com/news/patch-notes/patch-notes-for-odyssey-1.1 Patch notes for Odyssey 1.1]</ref> For example the Iteron Mark IV changed to the [[Miasmos]] and gained a large ore bay. Some of these changes have been made to this guide, but keep this in mind in case something was missed.

Our goal is to be able to haul the greatest volume of cargo (measured in m3) in the least amount of training time from a new character's perspective. This guide shows you some basic skill training plans that you can customize using a program such as [http://evemon.battleclinic.com/ EVEMon].

Up to the June 2013 Odyssey expansion, the Amarr Bestower was the hauler of choice up to Racial Industrial III. With Odyssey 1.0, that changed to the Gallente Iteron Mark V since it became flyable at Gallente Industrial I instead of V. However, as of Odyssey 1.1 in September 2013, the Bestower was once again the top hauler for general cargo. The Bestower carries less specific cargo than the modified haulers with special bays for ore, etc like the [[Kryos]] and [[Miasmos]]. The Bestower is also a good choice if you want to use the tech 1 industrial with the highest possible general cargo capacity in the game.

Hauling safely is still a concern with all haulers and even though cargo capacities might have increased. For example, the Iteron Mark V lost a mid slot and might be more vulnerable than in the past. The 4 general purpose large capacity haulers can only fit three meta 4 Medium shield extenders and end up with around 6,000 ehp +/- depending on the race. One recommendation is to only carry 3 to 5 million isk in value per 1,000 of ehp. Another recommendation is the 50 million isk maximum collateral for T1 industrial haulers used by eve hauling company MicroPush.<ref>[http://www.pushx.net/rates.php PushX Rates] (no endorsement intended)</ref> If you carry too much cargo value often enough, you will lose your ship.
