This is a draft page on "deadspace and acceleration gates"

Deadspace

Deadspace cannot be warped into, the only way to get in is to use acceleration gates. If give command to warp to something in deadspace (eg bookmark, beacon, fleet member), will land at acceleration gate (so no need to bookmark acceleration gate). Acceleration gates may have ship size restrictions or other access conditions (eg clear all enemies from area, have key (single- or multiple-use)). Need to be close (2000m?) to the acceleration gate to use it. Unlike warp, acceleration gate will always "deposit" you at a predetermined spot (unlike warp, where you can warp at X km from a target) - keep in mind for combat, as it may land you very close to enemies. Can use MJD in deadspace pocket. Can warp within the deadspace pocket (probably not)?

Can always warp out of a deadspace pocket, except to the pocket's acceleration gate.

The acceleration gate to a deadspace pocket may itself be in another deadspace pocket, forming a "complex" ("series of rooms") (eg higher-level combat missions). Sometimes these even branch (example from high-level mission).

Deadspace pockets are encountered:

  • In many missions
  • FW complexes (technically a misnomer, as they are only composed of one deadspace pocket and not several connecting pockets)
  • cosmic signature combat sites (DED complexes and unrated complexes)

MWD used to be disabled in deadspace, but this is no longer the case. All other sensors (eg D-Scan, scan probes) work as normal. Can be useful for defense: enemy players cannot warp directly to you, they must first warp to the acceleration gate, and then use the acceleration gate to enter the complex (and even then you know exactly where they will land).

Information on ship restrictions, and what to find on other side of acceleration gate: eve-survival, official eve wiki, uni wiki, google.
