This article is a stub. You can help the UniWiki by expanding it.

The Interstellar Shipcaster is a stationary structure that allows for a one-way jump to move capsuleers enlisted in Faction Warfare from their faction's Headquarters star system closer to the warzone.

Mechanics

To use an Interstellar Shipcaster one needs to be enlisted with the corresponding faction militia. Players consolidate efforts to build Shipcaster Beacons in the warzone; there may be from 0 to 3 Beacons active simultaneously. If there are more than 1, the Shipcaster cycles every 6 minutes through different destinations.

Beacons require 300 smartfab units, 10 self-harmonizing power cores, 200 quantum microprocessors and 8000 nanotransistors to construct. A Beacon may be attacked by the opposing militia so needs to be defended.

Controversy

Interstellar Shipcasters were the main goal of the Shipcaster Shadow War and it was supposed that they would greatly change the battlefield. However, nothing of this sort happened.[1] Shipcasters remain mainly unused due to the difficulty of defending the Beacons.

Deathless Interstellar Shipcaster

Main article: Zarzakh#Deathless_Shipcaster

Zarzakh system features the fifth Shipcaster that works for players enlisted for pirate factions.

History

The four great empires of New Eden are racing to develop and construct the first Interstellar Shipcasters: massive structures capable of launching allied pilots across space to give them a decisive edge in the conflict over lowsec warzones.

During the Shipcaster Shadow War in 2023 the Empire factions were encouraging capsuleers to collect data and resources, leading to construction of first Interstellar Shipcasters.

Later in Havoc expansion the Deathless Interstellar Shipcaster appeared in Zarzakh.
