Rampant Drone Fabricator is a cosmic signature that appears in low security space, wormholes and Pochven during the Gallente Election YC128 event. The site appears as a combat site of level II scanning difficulty.
The site has three "tiers" of rewards depending on location. The lowest rewards are in C1-C3 Wormholes, the medium rewards are in lowsec, C4s and Pochven, and the highest rewards are in C5-C6s. Despite the three tiers of rewards, all sites have the same difficulty regardless of location. [Verify]
Notes
- The site is an ungated single pocket, not deadspaced. The most prominent landmark of the site is the Rampant Drone Fabricator, which will be at 0 on the warp-in and projects a visible area-of-effect field of ~50 km that prevents smartbombs and micro jump drives from being used near it.
- Destroying the Rampant Drone Fabricator ends the site. It is recommended to damage the Fabricator early to make it easier to destroy when you need to complete the site. The Fabricator wreck will project its own separate disruption field that prevents warping and cloaking within 20 km of the wreck - it can be destroyed, salvaged or simply burnt away from until the field effect drops. The wreck has 20,000 structure HP with 0 resists.
- If all players in the site either leave grid or cloak up after the NPC waves have begun to spawn, a 30-second stability timer will begin. If no player reenters the circle around the Rampant Fabricator before the timer ends, the Fabricator will deactivate and the site will despawn.
- The NPCs all do 60% EM/40% Thermal damage, and a lot of it as well (1000 EHP/s Loki with 90% EM / 85% Thermal resists had to overheat tank mods on first battleship wave). They follow the same resist profiles of normal K-Space Rogue Drones (weak to EM/Th, strong against Kin/EX), and have a strong armor buffer tank with moderate active shield repairs. The drones have a behavior and naming convention very similar to those in homefront operations, shown below:

- ^ Frigates and destroyers with this prefix will shoot drones. Cruisers, battlecruisers and battleships with this prefix are DPS only (only confirmed for light drones).
- The NPCs are in their own unique entity category (Fabricator Rogue Drones). Make sure to set it to visible on your overview to see them.
- The NPCs do not leave wrecks or loot, nor do they have any bounties, much like Abyssal enemies. The sole source of loot in this site is from the Rampant Fabricator.
- Not advisable to use drone boats in the site since they will be very aggressively targeted by Corrupted drones. Larger ships will require significant damage application support as many of the smaller ships will orbit at 20+ km away at high speed and have small sig radius. Cruisers and battlecruisers will attempt to kite out to 30+ km with the exception of webbing ships, which will orbit at 15 km.
- Fighters will not be targeted. Space Superiority fighters will deal full damage to all NPCs and structures in the site.
- Each wave will be indicated by a relative difficulty level in the Opportunities window (Minimal/Moderate/Severe).
- The site waves will spawn new and more powerful drones after a long enough time, with each new spawn representing a significant increase in incoming DPS.
- Waves 1-3 will usually be only frigates and destroyers. Expect about 100-300 incoming DPS. ECM jamming ships can spawn in any wave.
- Waves 4-8 will begin to spawn cruisers and battlecruisers in addition to any ship types from the previous spawns. Webbing ships will begin appearing. Expect about 600-800 incoming DPS.
- Wave 8 and after will begin to spawn battleships in addition to any ship types from the previous spawns. Cruiser and battlecruiser types will begin to spawn in pairs on wave 8. Wave 8 will average 1000-1200 incoming DPS.
- Up to wave 8, the spawns will never be any more than 5 ships per wave. After wave 8, the site will incrementally increase the size of each new spawn in all waves afterwards, capping at ~5 battleships past wave 20, plus any additional escorts.
- Bringing a battleship or equivalent will cause the site to bypass the Minimal difficulty and immediately begin at Moderate. The cruiser, battlecruiser and battleship-sized enemies will spawn several waves earlier than usual. (Battlecruiser spawn recorded as early as wave 2 - 21 March 2026.)
- Capital ships (excluding the Rorqual) will trigger an even more powerful escalation and significantly increased rewards. All NPCs deal +50% damage to carriers, +100% against all other capitals.
- The site waves will spawn new and more powerful drones after a long enough time, with each new spawn representing a significant increase in incoming DPS.
- If you are planning to progress past wave 8 (earlier if you are using battleships or capitals), make sure your ship is fit to withstand a lot of neut pressure over an extended period of time. The Cascade Manager and Principal battleships do quite heavy neuting, roughly 25 GJ/s each, on top of dealing 600-800 DPS each with a strong buffer tank. Additionally they have extremely high tracking speed (50, equivalent to medium-sized blasters) and an 80km optimal range, meaning speed-tanking fits will not be helpful in mitigating the incoming damage.
Site
The site will progress through 30 waves of hostile Rogue Drones of increasing strength. The site is considered complete when all 30 waves are cleared and/or the Rampant Drone Fabricator is destroyed by the player. The Fabricator is invulnerable by default and can only be damaged for a short 20 second interval after the current wave of Rogue Drones is defeated. The structure itself has 2000 shield, 14000 armor and 4000 hull hitpoints with 0 resists. It will slowly accumulate loot over time with each successive wave and it must be destroyed to retrieve the loot.
On waves 4, 8 and 16, two of the Nanoswarm structures will become vulnerable, indicated by their overview icons turning red. Destroying one will cause it to provide a buff to your ship depending on the specific type of nanoswarm destroyed, while the other nanoswarm will self-destruct. Clearing the current wave without destroying either Nanoswarm will cause both to self-destruct and give no buffs.
