Hello & Welcome to Eve University!
By joining EVE Online's premier learning institution, you have taken one of the many steps to becoming successful in New Eden.
Your First Steps in Eve University
These important first steps should not be ignored by new University pilots, and should be completed as soon as possible.
First: A reminder about our chat channels and their uses
- "Corp" chat tab is used to request TeamSpeak access, skillbook reimbursement, hangar requests, etc. This is also where questions about Uni policies or clarifications about where to ask should go.
- "Alliance" chat tab is for fleet formation. You should only be typing in Alliance to form or join a fleet. To understand how fleets are formed in alliance please read The Rookie's Guide To Fleet Ops.
If you still have questions please ask them in corp chat.
- Chat.e-uni is the general chat channel for the UNI. Questions about fleets, fleet formation or Wartime SOP should not be asked there but should instead be asked in corp chat.
- Other channels can be found here Chat Channels and Mailing Lists.
Step 1: Bookmark these Pages
- Bookmark these sites for future reference in the In-Game Browser (IGB) or your favorite browser.
Step 2: Register for Forum Access
- Using the In-Game Browser (IGB), navigate to the registration page to begin.
- If you have previously registered to the forums, for example as an "Eve High" member, you will need to reset your membership to pickup the Eve University access by accessing the activation page from in game.
- If the registration page is blank and/or does not load, it may not have properly been set to "TRUSTED". You must then manually add the page to the list of trusted sites in the in game browser.
Step 3: Introduce Yourself
- Navigate to: Hi and Bye forum
- Make a post in the Hi and Bye forum and let us know you better.
- This is a requirement to obtain the Freshman status.
Step 4: Set Up Voice Communications
- Read: Install and Setup TeamSpeak 2
- A crucial step in attending classes and participating in official Uni operations (ie. Fleets).
Step 5: Understand Our Policies
- Read: Ivy League Policies & Wartime Standard Operating Procedures
- You are expected to read, understand, and follow all policies at all times.
Step 6: Configuring the Ship Overview
- Read: Varius Arcturus' Overview Guide.
- Configuring your overview to the University standard is a great learning process about your overview.
- University Standard Overviews are required for fleets.
Step 7: Check Corporation/Alliance Bulletins
- Find: In Game NeoCom > Corporation Button > Home Tab
- Corporation Bulletins are found under the Home Tab.
- Alliance Bulletins are found under the Alliances Tab.
- You'll find our passwords and TeamSpeak info under the alliances bulletins.
Step 8: Review the Consolidated Information Page
- Please take the time to review the page: Eve University Consolidated Information.
- It is meant to introduce you to the programs & information you'll need to get the most out of your time at the University.
