{{Cleanup|The ship template is probably not the best for a drone. Given the specialty of the Gecko, it does deserve its own page, in some fashion. But I don't know if we have the right templates to accommodate it... [[User:Drebin 679|Drebin 679]] ([[User talk:Drebin 679|talk]]) 04:56, 19 April 2024 (UTC)}}

  | info=The Gecko was one of the results of the explosion in new technology deriving from the covert and highly illegal research labs known as Ghost Sites. It is a superdrone whose structure bears some similarity to Heavy Drones, but whose function is far deadlier. The Gecko uses up twice the bandwidth of a regular drone, and in turn comes with twice the combat capabilities at much less the skill cost. It accomplishes this in part through an enigmatic new advancement in the theory of remote operations, which allows clone pilots much greater control of detached high-velocity equipment than had hereto been possible.

* {{Sk|Heavy Drone Operation}} to at least IV to greatly augment your damage output.
* {{Sk|Heavy Drone Operation}} and {{Sk|Drone Interfacing}} to at least IV to greatly augment your damage output.
* {{Sk|Drone Avionics}} and {{Sk|Advanced Drone Avionics}} to V and IV respectively. Drone Avionics V is required for the T2 Drone Link Augmentor.
* {{Sk|Drone Durability}}, {{Sk|Drone Navigation}}, and {{Sk|Drone Sharpshooting}} to at least IV to make the most of the Gecko. Drone Sharpshooting IV is required for the T2 Omnidirectional Tracking Enhancer, Drone sharpshooting V is required for the T2 Omnidirectional Tracking Link, and Drone Navigation V is required for the T2 Drone Navigation Computer.

It is much easier to control your Gecko as you will usually only have one of them to watch after. Watch the tank levels on your Gecko carefully, if the shields go down to 20-25% then you have to pull your drone, as the Gecko isn't as strong in hull or armor. Gecko's are expensive (180 mil minimum) and losing them is easily preventable. Make sure to target webs first, as ships with webs spell a death sentence for the (relatively) slow Gecko.
