Commanding Officer (CO)

Rank: Commanding Officer

Role: The Task Force Commanding Officer (CO) is expected to be fully able to lead and command fleets, and provide leadership in times of war. The commanding officer has ultimate authority over the operations of their Task Force, and is given wide latitude to run the unit as he/she sees fit within the bounds of established Wartime rules and procedures and direction from the Admiralty. In this respect, Commanding Officers have significant responsibilities within the Ivy League Navy and EVE University to supervise the recruitment and training of Task Force personnel and maintain general combat readiness within their Task Force. Task Force Commanders carry the rank of Captain and with it authority to initiate a security lockdown at their discretion.

Executive Officer (XO)

Rank: Executive Commanding Officer

Role:The task Force Executive Officer is expected to be fully able to lead and command fleets, and provide leadership in times of war. The Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their Task Force, and is given broadly delegated authority to act on the behalf of the Task Force Commanding Officer in his/her absence and as needed to maintain good order and discipline within the unit. To that end, the Executive Officer should monitor developing personnel issues closely and bring them to the attention of the Commanding Officer for action as needed.

 Task Force Training Liaison

Rank: ILN Officer, Appointed Position 

Role: The Task Force Training Liaison is an ILN Officer who has been appointed by the Task Force Commanding Officer with approval from the Admiralty. The Training Liaison is responsible for developing and scheduling training events, competitions and operations for the Task Force. The Training Liaison works closely with the Education Department of the University to identify training needs within the Task Force and provide training opportunities for both basic and advanced combat tactics. This may be accomplished by arranging classes and live events, as well as other avenues of education. The Training Liaison is responsible for encouraging attendance and making sure an appropriate After Action Report is filed for every Task Force sanctioned activity.

Sends weekly reports to the Task Force CO and XO on matters concerning training, training events, operations and competitions.

 Task Force Personnel Liaison

Rank: ILN Officer, Appointed Position

Role: The Task Force Personnel Liaison is an ILN Officer who has been appointed by the Task Force Commanding Officer with approval from the Admiralty. The Personnel Liaison is responsible for reviewing the applications of enlisted personnel wishing to promote to an ILN Officer position within the Task Force. The Personnel Liaison also maintains a database of active and inactive ILN Officers, as well as the Task Force roster on the ILN forum and the ILN wiki page.  The Personnel Liaison works closely with the Security Liaison and Training Liaison to identify pilots suitable for further specialized training (e.g. Scouts, Remote Repair tactics, etc). The Personnel Liaison is generally the first point of contact for an ILN Officer wishing to file a complaint or concern, and will direct those concerns to the appropriate entity as needed.

Sends weekly reports to the Task Force CO and XO on matters concerning recruitment, discipline and future promotional recommendations.

 Task Force Security Liaison

Rank: ILN Officer, Appointed Position

Role: The Task Force Security Liaison is an ILN Officer who has been appointed by the Task Force Commanding Officer with approval from the Admiralty. The Security Liaison works closely with Public Relations Department of the University, which is tasked with providing graded and validated live Intel to Fleet Commanders, in addition to collecting any incoming intelligence concerns. The Security Liaison also works with the Training Liaison to train and certify pilots to fly Covert Op Scouting Frigates for wartime use, as well as Stealth Bomber and Force Recon certification. The Security Liaison keeps up to date with enemy fleet movements, equipment and tactics.  The Security Liaison should work closely with the Personnel Liaison and Training Liaison to organize the training of potential scouts as well as pilots with advanced squad leadership potential within the Task Force.

Sends weekly reports to the Task Force CO and XO on matters concerning scouting activities, locator agent availability and AAR/Killmail analysis.

 Task Force Diplomatic Liaison

Rank: ILN Officer, Appointed Position

Role: The Task Force Diplomatic Liaison is an ILN Officer who has been appointed by the Task Force Commanding Officer with approval from the Admiralty. The Diplomatic Liaison is responsible for reviewing all After Action Reports and Killmail data to determine potential diplomatic concerns. The Diplomatic Liaison works closely with the Public Relations/Diplomatic Departments of the University to discuss possible solutions to incidents, and provides vital information that is used in determine the setting of standings for individuals, corporations, and alliances. The Diplomatic Liaison may also serve as a representative of the ILN during times of war with war tragets in the absence of a University Dimplomat.

Sends weekly reports to the Task Force CO and XO and on matters concerning diplomatic incidents and standings changes.

 Task Force Logistics Liaison

Rank: ILN Officer, Appointed Position

Role: The Task Force Logisitcs Liaison is an ILN Officer who has been appointed by the Task Force Commanding Officer with approval from the Admiralty. The Logistics Liaison is responsible for maintaining a ready supply of ships and equipment for the Task Force using the provided Task Force station containers. In coordination with the University Logisitics Department, the Logistics Liaison is able to answer, prepare or deny any request from ILN pilots in the form of ships, munitions (standard, faction, and tech 2), and training material (standard and advanced skillbooks). The Logistics Officer also manages access to the Task Force containers and monitors any misuse. Misuse of the Task Force ships/equipment are investigated by the Logistics Liaison together with other Task Force Liaisons and an appropriate course of action is decided, pending approval from the Task Force CO, XO, and/or Logistics Department Director as needed.

Sends weekly reports to the Task Force CO and XO regarding resupply needs and donations.

 ILN Officer 

Rank: ILN Officer

Role: The ILN Officer is any pilot in the University who has decided to dedicate themeselves in defending the ILN and the University, and has passed the Officer Advancement Process. An ILN Officer is responsible for providing a continual flow of information, training, and practical fleet experience to their fellow ILN Officers, as well as the University. To accomlish that, ILN Officers are required to serve as either a Squad Commander, Wing Commander, Fleet Commander or Scout a minimum of three times per month. An ILN Officer may also choose to instruct fellow ILN Officers and University members in a PVP-focused class or training session a minimum of three times per month. ILN Officers are not only permitted, but encouraged, to have provide any combination of fleet and class training, provided they meet the minimum standards. There is no maximum limit to how often an ILN Officer gives back to their community. The ILN Officer is used to develop the leadership skills of up-and-coming fleet commanders within the ILN under the watchful eyes of the ILN Staff Officers (CO, XO and Liaison Officers). 

ILN Officers work closely with the Task Force Liaisons for guidance, training, resources and feedback as appropriate.
