The rats will deal all damage types and will adjust to hit at your bigest resist hole. Against "Mordu's Legion Battleships" the best damage is EM but other damage types are almost as good. Against "Mordu's Legion Commander" kinetic is much better than any other damage type.

After all ships are destroyed you can loot the goodies from the hub. The lab can be destroyed and looted before ships are destroyed but you may want to focus all damage on the ships.
