You can decrease the training time required by remapping your attributes. If you choose to remap then remember to do so before you start training to maximize the benefit of the remap. All Industrial ship skills are heavy on Perception (primary) and Willpower (secondary), therefore all the hauler remaps will be the same and the attributes should be distributed like the following:
You can decrease the training time required by remapping your attributes. You get 3 remaps total in your first year, so you can afford to remap Int/Mem and train any core skills you needm followed by a remap to Per/Will to train the spaceship command skills to fly your ship.

*Remaining points into Willpower
 
In order to minimize training time, any levels of hull upgrades should be trained before performing the neural remap.
