Locating & Difficulty

  • This is a type of hidden combat site found in high sec systems through exploration.

Cruiser or smaller to enter acceleration gate.

First pocket

400px

  • Defenders: 6-7 Alvi type (Frigate), 2 Alvior type (Destroyer), and 5 Drone Harvesters.
  • Reinforcements: Wave 1: 3-4 Alvi type (Frigate), 4 Alvior type (Destroyer). Wave 2: 3-4 Alvi type (Frigate), 4 Alvior type (Destroyer), and 1 Sentient Devilfish Alvi.

Escalation triggered after eliminating first reinforcement wave.

Loot

  • Total: 1.2M
  • Salvage: 814K
  • Loot: 205K (Includes all rogue mineral drops at 100% refine, no taxes)
  • Bounties: 0 (Remember they are drones)

Escalatation: Mare Sargassum

Stage 1: A few small drones, and one sentient drone. The escalation appeared after I killed a few of the drones - and before killing the sentient drone (timer?)

Stage 2: Similar to first, killing sentient drone first triggered escalation. There is at least one reinforcement wave.

Stage 3: Fewer rogue drones, and killing the sentient drone once again triggered the escalation. As a bonus, you get to see a great big red cube in space. The Borg turned more evil?

Stage 4: LOSEC (took me two jumps in). 5 small rogue drones waiting on warpin, and 5 "Drone Hold" cans. Completion popup happened after blowing up the first wave and starting to open cans. Two reinforcement waves later appeared, with a Rogue Mining Overseer dropping T2 salvage (as loot?). One of the Drone Hold cans contained some drone goo (Dark Compound, Condensed Compound), but overall fairly worthless stuff. Maybe I got unlucky?

No gates on any of the escalations, and the entire chain was easily completed in a cruiser.
