Repackage

Modules and ships need to be 'repackaged' in order for them to be sold on the market or stacked. For ships repackaging also greatly reduces the size of the vehicle, allowing for far simpler transport. You can only repackage from within a hanger. Modules cannot be repackaged within a cargo-hold or station container.

How To Repackage

To repackage a module or ship, simply right-click on the item, and Select 'Repackage' from the menu:

Unable to Repackage

You will not be able to repackage an item if it is damaged, for example a module that has taken damage from Overheating. You will instead receive the following message:

In order to repackage damaged items, they need to be repaired first, to do this right-click on the item and select 'Get Repair Quote'.

Ships

Repackaging a ship will significantly reduce its size allowing it to be transported within a cargo hold. Repackaging a ship with modules fitted with strip the modules and place them in your hanger.

It will also cancel any insurance you have on the ship (with no refund) and destroy any rigs fitted to the ship.

For this reason, some ships (notably the Bowhead) have 'Ship Maintenance' hangers that can carry assembled ships without needing to repackage them and so keeping rigs intact, and modules in place.
