Mission Statement

“Provide an educational location where newcomers to EVE Online within EVE University can work together, learn, and flourish within a high sec environment.”

Goals:

  • Provide a starting point where new players can easily try their hand at PvP, missions, manufacturing, and any other aspect of the game with ease.
  • Provide a thriving, knowledgeable and welcoming community.
  • Provide easy access to the other E-UNI campuses.

Campus Details

Current location: Amygnon VIII - X-Sense Reprocessing Facility

In-game chat channel: HSC.E-Uni

Mailing List: HSC.E-Uni

  • No station in Amygnon has a medical bay. Jufvitte IV - Federal Defense Union Logistics Support is the closest station with a medical bay, one jump out.
  • There are many mission agents in Amygnon. Remember to make a separate fleet before you run any missions in a group. If you are doing missions solo, we recommend you stay in the HSC Standing Fleet, but remember not to share mission standings/rewards with the fleet.
    • Amygnon VI - M1 - Garoun Investment Bank Vault has a level 4 security agent.
    • Amygnon VII - M10 - Aliastra Warehouse has a level 2 distribution agent.
    • Amygnon VII - M21 - Aliastra Warehouse has a level 3 security agent and a level 4 distribution agent.
    • Amygnon VIII - M5 - Garoun Investment Bank Vault has a level 4 security agent.

Joining the HSC

Primary requirements for joining the campus

  • There are no title or skill requirements to join the High Sec Campus.
  • Join the "HSC.E-Uni" chat channel (for E-Uni members and their alts only).
  • Join the "HSC.E-Uni" mailing list.

Secondary requirements

Strongly recommended

NOTE:

  • Our mumble channel is public and we welcome players who have applied to join EvE University.

Moving to the HSC

IF THERE IS AN ONGOING WAR, DO NOT MOVE ANYTHING IN AN INDUSTRIAL ON YOUR UNI CHARACTER.

When moving to Amygnon, fly your Uni character down in a cheap ship.

To move the rest of your belongings, you can create and use an alt hauler, use our free freighter service, or ask in mumble/chat for someone to help on their alt character.

Rules and Guidelines

General

  • Only members of EVE University or the alts of members of EVE University are allowed to join the HSC Main Fleet.
  • Members active in camp are encouraged to be in Mumble (if you are hearing impaired, let us know).
    • You do not have to talk in Mumble, but it is highly advised that you should at least listen.
    • HSC Mumble is an event chat, so you may join mumble if you are not actively participating in the fleet, however you MUST follow combat comms when they're active.
    • When the uni is at war, you MUST be in comms for both your safety and the safety of other HSC members before you undock.
  • If you are going AFK then you must drop fleet.
  • Help your fellow campers learn. This is an on-going educational chat room. Lesson opportunities override all else.
  • All members of the HSC Main fleet must adhere to all EVE University Rules.
  • Fly only what you can afford to lose.

PvP

  • Any formal event that results in a killmail or lossmail must have a comment on the killboard as well as have an AAR written about it on the forum. It is your responsibility to comment on your lossmails. AAR's are generally written by the FC.
    • 1v1 arranged fights do not need an AAR, but do still require a comment on lossmails.

  • Suggested PvP loot distribution is donation to the camp. Fleet Agreement on loot distribution overrides this.
    • An exception to this rule is that during wartime, war-target loot belongs to the ILN. This loot will be deposited into the event hangar (WARTARGET LOOT) container.

PvE

  • PvE loot is property of the group who agree to rat or run sites together, and should be distributed as per prior agreement of the group.
  • Mission rewards may never be shared with the main HSC Fleet. If you are running missions as a group, you must form a separate fleet in order to share the standings.

Communications

  • Camp communications are by default “OPEN COMMS”.
  • When first entering the HSC mumble please wait a minute before speaking (unless it is very urgent) to ensure "Combat Comms" is not in operation.
  • Open comms are usually only suspended for two reasons:
Someone calls “Break Break” over mumble, which indicates a new threat or that a fellow unista is in immediate danger. Please allow the pilot to speak.
"Combat Comms” is called over mumble. This indicates a fight is underway and non-combat related chatter should pause for the duration.
  • If you are operating in a mission fleet when there is a lot of general chat in comms, you may wish to create a separate Mumble sub-channel where it will be easier to communicate with your fleet.
  • If you are setting up an initiative to hunt war targets, and there are non-Unistas in Mumble, you may wish to move to one of the Fleet sub-channels for more secure comms until you disband the initiative. However, please bear in mind that even if not participating in the hunt, new players can learn a lot from listening in, so try to stay in the main chat if possible.

Standing Fleet

How to join the Standing Fleet

  1. Open the Fleet window via your NeoCom (NeoCom->Social->Fleet)
  2. Set the "Scope" to "My Available Fleets"
  3. Set "Range" and "Min. Standing" to "Any"
  4. Look for a fleet named "HSC", "HSC Standing Fleet" or similar.
  5. Right click on the fleet and select "Join" (remember to drop your current fleet if you are in one)

Once you are in fleet:

  1. Verify you are viewing the fleet as "Hierarchy" by right clicking on the four lines of the Fleet tab and selecting "View as Hierarchy". If that option does not exist, you are already in hierarchy mode.
  2. Find your name in the fleet hierarchy (note that your current Wing & Squad will have a Green arrow next to it).
  3. Drag and drop your name in to the appropriate Wing/Squad (If you have Leadership 5, consider taking the squad leader position, if empty, and passing what boosts you can to your fellow HSCbros.

Setting up the HSC Fleet

If you go looking for the HSC Standing Fleet and don't find it, ask if there is a fleet up in Mumble. If not, or you get no answer, set up a new HSC Fleet following this procedure:

  1. Open the Fleet window via your NeoCom (NeoCom->Social->Fleet)
  2. Right click on the four lines on the fleet tab and select "Form Fleet"
    1. If you already have the HSC stored fleet setup, you can load it by following the next steps, otherwise continue on with Step 3.
      1. Open the Fleet window and click on the four lines to open the Fleet menu.
      2. Select Fleet setups, then select "HSC Standing Fleet".
      3. Continue to Step 8
  3. Once the fleet is created, right click on the four lines again and select "Set Free-Move"
  4. Set up the PvP Wing
    1. Right click on "Wing 1" and select "Create New Squad". Do this twice so there are 3 squads in "Wing 1". You can add more, but 3 is the default/minimum.
    2. Right click on "Wing 1" and change its name to "PvP Wing".
  5. Set up the PvE Wing
    1. Right click on "Fleet" and select "Create New Wing"
    2. Right click on the new wing and select "Create New Squad". Do this three times so you have 3 squads in the new wing. Again, 3 is the default/minimum. More can be added if needed.
    3. Right click on the new wing and change its name to "PvE Wing".
  6. Create the HSC Standing Fleet Advert
    1. Select the "Fleet Finder" tab in the fleet window
    2. Select the "My Advert" tab
    3. Click the "Create Advert" button at the bottom of the window
    4. Set the "Fleet Name" to "HSC Standing Fleet"
    5. Check the "My Corporation" and "My Alliance" check boxes. Also, select "Hide Details in Advert" box at the bottom on the window. Leave everything else as default.
    6. Select the "Submit" button.
  7. You can store your fleet setup for easy re-use.
    1. In the fleet menu, click the four lines to open the menu.
    2. Click "Store Fleet Setup" option
    3. Enter the name "HSC Standing Fleet" and check "Include Current Free-move Setting".
  8. Marvel at the greatness of the Fleet you have created and welcome people as they join in.
  9. Save the fleet setup from the Fleet windows setting menu for future use.

Fleet Boss

Accepting Fleet Boss

If boss is passed to you, either as a result of you volunteering or being "ninja bossed", the Fleet Advert window will pop up on your screen. Verify the Advert settings are correct as specified above and select the "Submit" button. This will update the Fleet finder with the fact that you are the new boss. Save the fleet setup from the Fleet windows setting menu for future use, if you have not done this before.

Passing Fleet Boss to Another

If you are ready to leave fleet and are the current boss, you must pass the boss position to another in fleet first. Ask for volunteers in the Fleet Chat and/or Mumble. Make every reasonable effort to pass boss to someone who is active. Once you have your volunteer, pass fleet boss to them by right clicking their name in chat or the fleet window, followed by a left click on "Make Boss".

Being the Fleet Boss

The main job of the fleet boss is to move people in and out of Fleet/Wing command positions when asked to do so. Also, they are responsible for adding/removing new Wings and Squads as needed. The fleet boss is not "in charge" of the HSC, nor is he/she the "FC" of the fleet. Fleet boss is simply an administrative role.

What can I do in the HSC?

NOTE: When engaged in non PvP-related activities, keep a close eye out for War Targets or suicide gankers. Stay aligned to station as much as possible. Assess any newcomer that lands on grid with you, and if you're not sure, warp out.
