War Points

These are arguably the true yardstick as to the abilities a Merc in Dust 514.

As you perform actions on the battlefield you are awarded War Points (WP). These go beyond just the normal Kills and Kill Assists you achieve, but activities such as hacking objectives and installations, supplying ammo, giving a place for your team to spawn, revealing enemy locations, and repairing dropsuits all give you WPs. Completing these actions near an objective gives you a WP bonus as well (an addition 25% WP bonus called "Objective Defense"), which must be completed 100m near your nearest friendly objective point.

War points are important as they are the key to Precision Strike. Once a squad has gained enough War Points between them, the Squad Leader is given authorization to fire an Precision Strike at a target of their choosing.

(Squad Orders issued by your squad leader used to give you a WP bonus, but as of 1.10 this is no longer the case at this point in time.)
