* '''What are the uni wartime rules?''' In summary: No mining, no hauling, no solo missioning, no ratting. More specifically, see [[WSOP]].

* '''When can I undock?''' Basic rule: If there's no lockdown and there are no wartargets in local you can undock. Look at local chat member list to check for wartargets (Recognizable by the red background, white star icon). Contact an intel coordinator (check bulletins) and ask if it's safe for you to travel to Aldrat. Travel as fast as possible (warp to zero, no AFK/autopilot travelling!) and dock up instantly if you see a wartarget appear in local.

* '''What is a lockdown?''' ILN officers ranked Captain or higher have the ability to order a "lockdown", which means NOBODY is allowed to undock from any station or any system in Eve unless you have permission or are in/joining a combat fleet. DO NOT undock until you get orders from your Fleet Commander to undock from the specific station you are located in. Lockdowns are usually posted in Alliance mail. Make sure you read your mails (both corp/alliance) when you log in to know if there's a lockdown active at a given moment in time. "I missed the mail" is no excuse for losing your ship during a lockdown.

Hello & Welcome to Eve University!
By joining EVE Online's premier learning institution, you have taken one of the many steps to becoming successful in New Eden.

Your First Steps in Eve University

These important first steps should not be ignored by new University pilots, and should be completed as soon as possible.

First: A reminder about our chat channels and their uses

  • "Corp" chat tab is used to request skillbook reimbursement, hangar requests, etc. This is also where questions about university policies or clarifications about where to ask should go.
  • "Alliance" chat tab is for fleet formation. You should only be typing in Alliance to form or join a fleet. To understand how fleets are formed in alliance please read The Rookie's Guide To Fleet Ops. If you still have questions please ask them in corp chat.
  • Chat.E-UNI is the general chat channel for the university. Questions about fleets, fleet formation or Wartime SOP should not be asked there but should instead be asked in Corp chat.
  • Other channels can be found here Chat Channels and Mailing Lists.

Step 1: Bookmark these Pages

Step 2: Introduce Yourself

  • Note: This step may not be possible for applicants relocating to Aldrat or awaiting role cool down until you are fully accepted into the University
  • Navigate to: Hi and Bye forum
  • Make a post in the Hi and Bye forum and let us know you better.
  • This is a requirement to obtain the Freshman status.

Step 3: Set Up Voice Communications

  • Read: Install and Setup Mumble
  • A crucial step in attending classes and participating in official university operations (ie. Fleets).

Step 4: Understand Our Rules

Step 5: Configuring the Ship Overview

  • Read: Overview Guide.
  • Configuring your overview to the University standard is a great learning process about your overview.
  • University Standard Overviews are required for fleet operations.
  • The other thing required for fleet operations is reading and understanding the The Rookie's Guide To Fleet Ops

Step 6: Check Corporation/Alliance Bulletins

  • Find: In Game NeoCom > Corporation Button > Home Tab
  • Corporation Bulletins are found under the Home Tab.
  • Alliance Bulletins are found under the Alliances Tab.
  • You'll find our passwords under the alliances bulletins.

Step 7: Coming to Aldrat

  • Moving In: Once you have settled in, a lot of Unistas tend to move into the Metropolis region, or Aldrat itself. You do not have to move here - you can usually attend classes from anywhere in the galaxy - however the corp hangars are located here and this is where most of our practical activities take place.
  • Be mindful when travelling with cargo haulers - especially when moving through low security (0.1 - 0.4) and null security (0.0) systems.
  • DO NOT go AFK at gates in such systems - they are very dangerous and there is a high likelihood you will lose your possessions.
  • TIP: If you set 'Aldrat' as your Autopilot destination, you can adjust the Autopilot settings to avoid low and null security systems - while the journey may be a little longer, it will be a lot safer.  You can access Autopilot settings by opening your Map screen [F10] and then selecting the Autopilot tab > Settings.

Step 8: Review the Consolidated Information Page

  • Please take the time to review the page: Eve University Consolidated Information.
  • It is meant to introduce you to the programs & information you'll need to get the most out of your time at the University.
