Why Solitude?
The main advantage is the confined nature of the area, so enemies of war ("WTs") have a harder time to get here. While nowhere in New Eden is completely safe, there are far fewer WT here. The confined nature also makes it easier for us to organize awareness of the current position if a WT makes it here. So watch next to the usual Liveintel.ILN also Solitude.E-UNI. Think of it like a meerkat manor constantly on the watch.

Solitude Campus provides an isolated environment for EVE University students, without frequent war targets but at the same time without easy access to major trade hubs. You will require a level of motivation and self-sufficiency to survive. Solitude thrives on versatility and new players can instantly have an impact on the Campus and the area. Due to our relative remoteness we all have to work together to maintain our community, we engage in exploration, industry, mining, PvE and PvP; we have access to and regularly visit all levels of space (highsec, lowsec, null, daytriping in wh space).

Prices on the Solitude market are higher than at the trade hubs in the empire. However, this also means you can sell your stuff higher and is a trade opportunity if you have the means to get stuff here.
+
Solitude Campus runs the local trade hub in our Fortizar - Gravity Well. We built it, we run it and we stock it.  In fact all of our key structures that form our base of operations were 100% built by the Solitude Campus members (and visiting unistas) via mining fleets, PVE fleets, Planetary Interaction and donations, showing our community spirit and commitment. Come help us grow the Campus and the region, while learning from our friendly veterans.

Finally you get a full load of pioneer spirit!
+
Joining the Campus
You help the project by being here: by missioning here, by mining here, by exploring here, by producing stuff here, by hauling here, by buying here, by selling here, by trading here!
+
Joining the Solitude Campus is as simple as joining the ingame slateblue chat channel. Here, you can ask any of the campus members questions about life in Solitude and how to get involved with the community. Similarly, join us on mumble and talk direct to our campus members. There are no official title requirements for joining Solitude, and you do not need to commit any specific amount of time to the campus.  Come on over and pay us a visit.

:If you don't have any implants in your current clone, and your new medical clones are fairly cheap, you can take "the pod express". Simply change your medical clone location to one of the stations in Oerse, and then self destruct your pod. It may be a good idea to get a jump clone in the empire first. After you wake up in Solitude, simply buy a new ship here.

On 31st December 2020 EVE University closed this campus and all its operations in the solitude region.
:This is a long route via Arida, from Bherdasopt (hisec) through Gonditsa, Otakod, Agaullores and Yveve to Yvelet (hisec).  The biggest risk of this particular path is a persistent gatecamp just off Bherdasopt gate in Gonditsa.  If you are taking this route to reach Solitude — or to get back out towards Aldrat again — you may want to contact the University's Low-Sec Camp in order to check if the gate is clear.  The LSC is based not far from Gonditsa, and so generally keeps eyes on that area.

Overview of the Solitude Region
 +
Solitude is a smallish region consisting of only 43 systems under the sovereignty of the Gallente Federation. Wedged between Aridia and Syndicate, Solitude is made up of two general regions. To the west of the region is a low-sec area bordering both Syndicate and Aridia with the home of the Nullsec Campus (NSC) only a few jumps away. To the east is a high-sec pocket consisting of 17 systems with a second entrance to Syndicate. This pocket also contains the system of Boystin, home to the E-Uni regional HQ as well as the regional trade hub. A further high-sec pocket of 3 systems can be found to the north of the region.

What it means to live in Solitude
:There are two possible routes available, both of which go through Syndicate and are considerably shorter than the above Low-Sec route.

It then carries on via 6E-578, ZVN5-H, 8-JYPM, M2-CF1, 97X-CH, Y9G-KS and enters Solitude in the Low-Sec system of Pertnineere and into the High-Sec pocket in Boystin.

Living in Solitude has certain advantages over the main high-sec Empire regions. Having said that, the confined nature of the area also has its challenges. Things to be considered before deciding whether to move or not are:

:Route 2: Chesiette (Verge Vendor): This route goes from Chesiette (0.6) via the Low-Sec system of Reblier and enters Syndicate at 6-CZ49. It then carries on via PVH8-0,  JH-2MW and M2-CF1 where it follows the remainder of the route to Oerse as mentioned above.
+
Advantages
 +
*Casual atmosphere, the general lack of war targets means we don't insist on players being in mumble and fleet normally.
 +
*The largest campus BPO library, available to all members to make BPCs.
 +
*Stocked Flight Deck and Main hangars, with a good range of beginner hulls, modules and rigs.
 +
*A smaller community, which means you'll regularly see and potentially fly with familiar faces.
 +
*Far from mainland high sec, making war target encounters a lot less likely.
 +
*Easier to organize awareness of WTs in the region and their location (if you ever see one).
 +
*Easier access to low-sec PI while still living in the relative safety of high-sec.
 +
*Easier access to low-sec ores in sparsely populated systems.
 +
*Quick access to NPC null-sec space for PvP excursions.

:Note that the jump between M2-CF1 and 97X-CH is a bottleneck. Quite often, the gate in M2-CF1 has a few small bubbles, although it is not always camped. The Syndicate entry system 6-CZ49 has also always many bubbles. Especially 6-CZ46 to Reblier gate can have 6 bubbles that are hard to avoid. Again, this gate is not always camped.
+
Disadvantages
 +
*Limited availability of some items on the local market.
 +
*Potentially higher prices for items that are available on the market.
 +
*Getting stuff to/from the large market hubs is slower or reliant on High-Sec-to-High-Sec wormholes being found.
 +
*Flying to Solitude requires extended travel through low or null sec (low sec route is recommended).

:Please visit the Solitude.E-Uni channel before travelling through Syndicate. The above mentioned routes are frequently being travelled by people already based in Solitude and some valuable intel might be available.
+
What can I do?
 +
*Exploration - sharpen your scanning skills and run data & relic sites. Due to our isolation, scanning down signatures, exploring sites and discovering Wormholes is a big part of Solitude life.
 +
*Mission - Solitude is a great place to run missions and participate in PVE fleets with experienced players. Visit the Archive:Missioning_in_Solitude page for more information.
 +
*Mine - plenty of belts and opportunities to mine solo or in a fleet. Organize and run your first mining fleet! A collection of valuable moon mining opportunities also await.
 +
*PVP - be part of small gang PVP. Try solo PVP. FC a small roam. Proximity to the NSC means you get twice as many opportunities.
 +
*PI - Learn Planetary Interaction; try it in High Sec and then expand into the nearby Low Sec and Null Sec areas for maximum profit.
 +
*Industry - plenty of opportunity to build things. Take part in team efforts to build large capital ships. Learn research and invention with the advice of very experienced players. Visit the Archive:Industry in Solitude page for more details.
 +
*Trade - We own the trade hub of the region - Gravity Well. Learn market PVP, without the BOTs from the large hubs that undercut you within minutes.
 +
*Socialize - you will meet the same people (unistas and others) again and again - talk to them! Fly with them! Part of the charm of the Solitude Campus is the close knit community.
 +
*Field trips - just explore Low Sec and Null Sec, and learn about gate and station guns, how bubbles work, how to scout your way and practice how to evade gate camps.

:There is an active scanning program within the pocket and hisec-to-hisec wormholes are found on a regular basis.  Both ends of the wormhole are bookmarked and placed in the Project Solitude folder of the corporate bookmarks.  This means members can use those via corp bookmarks to move assets/trade etc into the region without having to go through losec/nullsec.  This is a great way to get valuable ships and cargo into the pocket with minimal risk.  There is a mailing list to get timely informed of wormhole findings: "Sol-WH-alert.E-UNI".

:Black Frog or other couriers move assets in and out of the area, although this can be quite costly.  Black Frog, for example, charges 100,000,000 ISK to move up to 320,000 m3 from Aldrat to Oerse. You can't move yourself this way! See the Black Frog site.

:This is an option if you have them, but they should be out of corp. If things get popular, we may jump things in/out ourselves.

Scanning
Scanning is a great way to contribute to the success of Project Solitude.  We are currently working on organizing this effort and need a volunteer to lead and organize the effort to meet the goal set for Scanning. We aim to scan all 17 HighSec Systems multiple times a day. There is a Google doc that lists who scanned what system last; please ask your fellow explorers in Solitude.E-UNI for a link. Join the new Mailing List "Sol-WH-alert.E-UNI" and post there info about new WHs and help fellow unistas on Solitude to receive information  as soon as possible and have enough  time to utilize them.

Logistics
More details to follow.  We need to establish a logistics train to move materials back and forth to HiSec.  We want to do this in an organized manner, we are just not setup to organize it yet.

HDF/QRF
Fleet Commanders needed.  A LSC fleet joined by a Solitude HDF/QRF would be glorious.

Corporate Hanger
Please feel free to contribute to the corporate hangers in Oerse.  At present the hangers are not being stocked by the E-Uni Logistics Department so please remember to take only what you need.

Mining
We need more miners in the pocket.  Industrialists can help by setting up mineral buy orders, which will encourage the miners to mine.  This will bring more minerals for the industrialists, who can then build more ships and modules.

The Amarr Mining Camp now has a satellite office established in Solitude. While the AMC has a solid OpSec plan for the AMC HQ area, the operational security needs of the Solitude Office are still in discussion and thus its location is not listed here at this time. For the time being, just ask any of the AMC organizers in AMC Chat or Mumble.

Industry
There is a forum thread outlining the most requested modules. The market is short on ships...particularly the more popular hulls.  There is a noteworthy lack of competition in the Pocket right now with many items selling out as fast as they are put on the market.  Lot of ISK to be made.

BYOM/PYOS
Not Yet!  Having an active and vibrant BYOM/PYOS program will be a sure sign that Solitude is a sustainable place to live.

Recruitment
Actively recruiting Unistas to come join us in Solitude!

Education/Events
Classes that do not have a practical are not impacted by residing in Sol.  The goal is to get teachers give at least some of there practicals in Solitude.  Solitude pilots can help by signing up for classes and specifically requesting practicals in Solitude.  We are going to need a sense of how many pilots want to participate in particular classes/events.  Eventually, we want to request classes to be conducted in Solitude.

Ship Replacement Program
Still in Aldrat so far, some future day maybe in Oerse.

Skillbooks
NPC seeded Skillbooks in Solitude can be bought at the Federal Navy Academy in Elore (Elore VI – Moon 4). Note that Elore is a Low-Sec system (0.2) two jumps outside the main High-Sec pocket.

An Insta-Dock and Insta-Undock bookmark are available for this station in the Project Solitude bookmarks folder. Both should be clearly marked. More information is available in the bookmark notes. To view the notes, right-click the bookmarks and select Edit/View Location.

When picking up skillbooks in Elore, it is highly recommended to travel to the station in a shuttle and inject the new skill(s) before undocking.

Why Solitude?

Solitude Campus provides an isolated environment for EVE University students, without frequent war targets but at the same time without easy access to major trade hubs. You will require a level of motivation and self-sufficiency to survive. Solitude thrives on versatility and new players can instantly have an impact on the Campus and the area. Due to our relative remoteness we all have to work together to maintain our community, we engage in exploration, industry, mining, PvE and PvP; we have access to and regularly visit all levels of space (highsec, lowsec, null, daytriping in wh space).

Joining the Campus

Joining the Solitude Campus is as simple as joining the ingame Solitude (EVE Uni) chat channel.

Communication

We use the following EVE University services for communication:

 • Ingame chat channel Solitude (EVE Uni) (need to be a current member of the Uni and have access to the channel password thread).
 • Ingame mailing list Solitude.E-Uni (current unistas can join freely, ex-unistas needs to ask the Campus Leadership for permission).
 • The Mumble channel Solitude Campus under Special Projects & Events (need to be registered on the forum).
 • Solitude Campus on the E-Uni Discord server
 • The Solitude Campus section on the forum.

Campus Details

On 31st December 2020 EVE University closed this campus and all its operations in the solitude region.

Overview of the Solitude Region

Living in Solitude has certain advantages over the main high-sec Empire regions. Having said that, the confined nature of the area also has its challenges. Things to be considered before deciding whether to move or not are:

Advantages

 • Casual atmosphere, the general lack of war targets means we don't insist on players being in mumble and fleet normally.
 • The largest campus BPO library, available to all members to make BPCs.
 • Stocked Flight Deck and Main hangars, with a good range of beginner hulls, modules and rigs.
 • A smaller community, which means you'll regularly see and potentially fly with familiar faces.
 • Far from mainland high sec, making war target encounters a lot less likely.
 • Easier to organize awareness of WTs in the region and their location (if you ever see one).
 • Easier access to low-sec PI while still living in the relative safety of high-sec.
 • Easier access to low-sec ores in sparsely populated systems.
 • Quick access to NPC null-sec space for PvP excursions.

Disadvantages

 • Limited availability of some items on the local market.
 • Potentially higher prices for items that are available on the market.
 • Getting stuff to/from the large market hubs is slower or reliant on High-Sec-to-High-Sec wormholes being found.
 • Flying to Solitude requires extended travel through low or null sec (low sec route is recommended).

What can I do?

 • Exploration - sharpen your scanning skills and run data & relic sites. Due to our isolation, scanning down signatures, exploring sites and discovering Wormholes is a big part of Solitude life.
 • Mission - Solitude is a great place to run missions and participate in PVE fleets with experienced players. Visit the Archive:Missioning_in_Solitude page for more information.
 • Mine - plenty of belts and opportunities to mine solo or in a fleet. Organize and run your first mining fleet! A collection of valuable moon mining opportunities also await.
 • PVP - be part of small gang PVP. Try solo PVP. FC a small roam. Proximity to the NSC means you get twice as many opportunities.
 • PI - Learn Planetary Interaction; try it in High Sec and then expand into the nearby Low Sec and Null Sec areas for maximum profit.
 • Industry - plenty of opportunity to build things. Take part in team efforts to build large capital ships. Learn research and invention with the advice of very experienced players. Visit the Archive:Industry in Solitude page for more details.
 • Trade - We own the trade hub of the region - Gravity Well. Learn market PVP, without the BOTs from the large hubs that undercut you within minutes.
 • Socialize - you will meet the same people (unistas and others) again and again - talk to them! Fly with them! Part of the charm of the Solitude Campus is the close knit community.
 • Field trips - just explore Low Sec and Null Sec, and learn about gate and station guns, how bubbles work, how to scout your way and practice how to evade gate camps.
