In order to use a blueprint through the inventory window, bring up your inventory window (shortcut: Alt-C) and look for the Industry hangar. Once here, hover over the BPO you want to copy and click on the ''Use blueprint'' option. This will bring up the industry window with the blueprint you chose selected.
