Here is a table of suggested haulers for all types of cargo, showing their cargo capacity in m3 and approximate training time.  Firstly with all low slots filled with Expanded Cargohold IIs, and then with both Cargohold Expander IIs and Medium Cargohold Optimization I rigs (these modules increase a ship's cargo capacity) Training times assume the bare minimum skills needed to fly the ship and fit the modules, when trained from a new character whose race matches that the ship.

Training time assumes a new character created after the Vanguard patch (new players given 400,000 starting skill points). A remap should be saved, as there is much less training to be completed than pre-Vanguard. Also note there is no longer any training necessary to fit Expanded Cargohold II, as Hull Upgrades II is provided to new characters.

The Ody-1.1 industrial rebalance gave the Bestower the highest potential cargo, the Mammoth, the fastest travel time, the Tayra a launcher and highest base cargohold and made the Iteron Mark V average all-around due to the conversion of the Iteron Mark 2/3/4 into specialized ships for minerals, planetary commodities and ore.<ref>[https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=252819&find=unread Odyssey 1.1 - Tech 1 Industrials, Round 2]</ref>

=== Skill Books  ===
=== Skill Books  ===

Now, your new avatar will start out flat broke. Therefore, you will need to send the alt some ISK to buy the following skillbooks in the starting station:
Since the Vanguard patch, new players are given a suite of skills already trained, thus the only skillbooks recommended are:

*Racial Industrial (300,000)
*Jury Rigging: 60,000 (optional)
*Hull Upgrades (60,000)
*Astronautics Rigging: 20,000 (optional)
*Jury Rigging (60,000) (optional)
**Total: 80,000
*Astronautics Rigging (20,000) (optional)
**Total: 360,000 (with optional: 440,000) ISK

=== Training Plan for any Industrial ===
=== Training Plan for any Industrial ===

Following Odyssey, it now takes less than 2 hours to train a hauler pilot to level 1 with expanded cargohold IIs.
Following the Vanguard patch, there is no longer any training required to fly a T1 racial industrial with Expanded Cargohold IIs.

#(Optional) Remap Int/Mem
=== Training Plan for a Rigged Industrial ===
#Hull Upgrades I (13m with remap)
With the additional skills provided automatically to new characters by the Vanguard patch, it is not recommended to use a neural remap for the small amount of time gained on training.
#Hull Upgrades II (1h 2m)
#(Optional) Remap Per/Will
#Racial Industrial I (26m)

When it is done, you will be able to pilot a Bestower that can fit Expanded Cargohold IIs for 21,652 m3 of cargo space.

=== Training Plan for a Rigged Industrial ===
Without remaps, you should be able to pilot a rigged Industrial around 12 hours 57 minutes.
Without a remap, you should be able to pilot a rigged Industrial around 22 hours 24 minutes. With remaps, it is around 17 hours 55 minutes.

#(Optional) Remap Int/Mem
*Mechanics III (3h, 39m)
#Hull Upgrades I (13m with remap)
*Jury Rigging I (16m)
#Hull Upgrades II (1h 2m)
*Jury Rigging II (1h, 17m)
#Mechanics III (2h 55m)
*Jury Rigging III (7h, 19m)
#Jury Rigging I (13m)
*Astronautics Rigging I (25m)
#Jury Rigging II (1h 2m)
#Jury Rigging III (5h 51m)
#Astronautics Rigging I (20m)
#(Optional) Remap Per/Will
#Racial Industrial I (26m)

When this is done, you will be able to pilot a Industrial that can fit Expanded Cargohold IIs and Cargohold Optimisation rigs for 32,929 m3 of cargo space. With another 2 hours of training you could reach Racial Industrial II and haul 5% more cargo.

The [[Tayra]] was formerly known as the Badger Mark II and was somewhat overlooked out of all of the racial haulers due to pre-odyssey training times and lower capacity than the Bestower and Iteron Mark V. After the Odyssey expansion, it is now possible to fly a Tayra with only Caldari Industrial I. Tayra is the only one of the 4 that has a launcher hardpoint. Tayra has the largest base cargohold of the 4, while the Bestower has the highest potential cargohold with cargohold expanders.

== Optional Training: Rigging  ==
You can increase the carrying capacity of your hauler significantly by fitting it with three Medium Cargohold Optimization I rigs.
It is important to note that you do not need rigging skills to install rigs on a ship, despite the skills being listed as required in the rig item info. Rigging skills will, however decrease the penalties associated with installing a rig, which in the case of the Medium Cargohold Optimization rig, is a 10% penalty to armor hit points. Each skill level in Astronautics Rigging will decrease this penalty by 1%.
