Shauny Tsero.jpg Shauny Tsero is an Orientation Officer, Titles Officer, Teaching Assistant and Student Advocate.

Whether I am Orientating NewBros, FC-ing a spontaneous fleet, in a class, mining, or just spinning-spinning-spinning in station...above ALL things I am here to help you. Fleets, Frank advice or fun... dont hesitate to chat me up or contact me via any of the communications channels I am in the Slack for every campus as well as Staff Slack, if I am not in-game then I can be contacted via Slack, this is on my phone, and if I am at my PC then I can be found in the Orientation Lounge or Student Lounge on Mumble. I want you to enjoy your time in Eve University, and enjoy your game and your interactions in it. I will do anything I can to facilitate that happening for all the space-nerds that cross my path.

Also, contact me if you need support or assistance. I am always happy to help or even just lend a listening and supportive ear. You can usually find me in HSC on Mumble.if I am not in-game then I can be contacted via Slack, this is on my phone, and if I am at my PC then I can be found in the Orientation Lounge or Student Lounge on Mumble. If you need/want to speak with me privately, you can just ask me and I'll take you to a private room to talk things through. I will never share what is discussed or our communications without your permission to do so, or if there has been some explicit violation of the EULA or EVE University code of conduct.

About My Current Roles:

Orientation Officer

Orientation Officers follow up with new members once they have been accepted. They reach out to new members to ensure they are settling in and provide them with information that will be useful for the individual situation. They act as a contact point for a member's first few weeks in the corporation, answer any questions a new member might have, and help to point them in the right direction.

Titles Officer

Titles Officers review all incoming Title Applications. They follow up with applicants who's applications are missing details or requirements as well as any references that are supplied. They also inform applicants who have been denied a title the reason why and how they might fix said reason before they apply again.

Teaching Assistant

As a Teaching Assistant I:

  • Sit in on classes, help with links or as requested by teachers.
  • Help guest lecturers interface with Eve University. Add in-game calendar entries, announce classes in Staff Slack and Alliance. Assist with After-Class Report as needed.
  • Watch for opportunities to bring more classes to Eve University, connecting potential teachers and guest lecturers with the Teaching Department.
  • TAs are expected to act appropriately as a member of the University staff and set a positive example to students.
  • Help make a core part of Eve University's mission successful.

Student Advocate

Student Advocates essentially function as mediators, addressing issues at student level before they escalate to the point where a Director would need to get involved. They are a point of contact for the student body, acting much like EVE's CSM in that they try to filter through the popular issues and bring the important ones to the attention of the Directorate. The Student Advocate can also be considered the "voice" of the students, acting on their behalf in dealings with the Directorate. Have you got an issue or a complaint with someone? Then a Student Advocate is the person you should speak to.

If you need confidential assistance regarding another player in EVE or a member of the University, please do not hesitate to contact me. You may do so directly via in game e-mail or if you see me in Mumble. If your issue is not a pressing one, you can submit a request via our Advocate Online Form and one of the Student Advocacy will get back to you as soon as they can. Rest assured all requests are viewed and responded to. Though we encourage our membership to make every attempt to resolve conflicts on their own, EVE University is expected to be a friendly and welcoming environment. If you are made to feel unwelcome or uncomfortable, please tell us. You can contact any member of staff, but the Student Advocate department is here to mediate any disputes between members and draw any areas of concern to the attention of management for the smooth functioning of the University and for the mutual and continued enjoyment of EVE ONLINE by all.
