I don't know what was said on discord but the general outline of the section is indeed correct. Distribution missions are especially well suited to farm storyline missions. I would not have written the section in the same manner because if this route is the best for you personally depends. For a new player it's often faster to just 'only' go for corp standings and not pay much attention to faction standings for example. There are also many other approaches. PS: technically the fastest way to increase faction standings is to have others share standings from epic arcs. Thus technically the first sentence is not correct.
