Conversation over 2 talk pages

Hey--I just wanted to say thank you for following my passages through the wiki and catching links, details, formatting errors, typos &c. Please do let me know on my talk page if you ever realise I have a particular bad habit, or if there's something about formatting that I'm persistently failing to grasp, or if you just want me to calm down and consult with you before editing pages, or anything like that--I want to contribute, but I know I'm not a very experienced editor! My response
Thank you! That's very kind of you. I'll have a read of the articles on how to edit--they sound like just what I need. Uryence (talk) 17:37, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Wikilink overload?

Hello: new to both EO and this wiki, though I have 16 years in admin-ing wikis, including as senior admin on another sci-fi franchise's primary wiki. (No worries: not asking for privileges.) One of the greatest attributes of wikis is the internal linking. Before I proceed too far in doing so here, I wanted to be certain that adding wlinks in great numbers to an article that I deem lacking is not violating any policies (written or otherwise), such as I did in the lede here. I appreciate the feedback. --Kansala Paquin (talk) 02:38, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

Hello back, and welcome. This question is more for Arin Mara, the current Wiki Manager, I will pull her attention to this convo.. Have you seen this UniWiki:Welcome and are you aware of the #wiki channel on the Uni Discord? That said: The page you specifically asked about is a Ship Database article and the part you edited here is a direct "copy" from the text in-game. In my opinion that part of the information should be left as-is. I also avoid creating red links to articles that, I feel will never be written, but that is my personal style. --Evon R'al (talk) 10:30, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Hello! In Making of The Ploy I wrote ".. link every first term occurrence to a Wiki page that explains the term" which specifies what the rules written in the UniWiki:Manual_of_Style/Linking#Overlinking_and_underlinking section mean. Linking more than that is overlinking. Making Red links should be avoided. Creating links on Ship Database articles isn't going to hurt, but if you'd like to maximize the usefulness of your edits, visit UniWiki:To-Do List, UniWiki:Projects or, even better, come talk to me on Discord so I can get to know you, your skills and perhaps find something appropriate for your skill level.
