The Bursary Program is an initiative of EVE University that rewards members for taking their first real step into a role the University needs more pilots for: scouts, hunters, logistics, boosters and Orca pilots.
A bursary is not ISK for nothing. You train the relevant corporation skill plan, and for most bursaries you also fly the role in a University fleet. Once you've done that, you receive fitted ships and gear that get you flying in that role straight away.
The bursaries on offer are chosen based on what the University's fleets need most. They don't change often, and any new bursaries or changes are always announced on the EVE University Discord.
How it works
| 1. Pick | 2. Train | 3. Fly | 4. Claim |
|---|---|---|---|
| Choose a bursary from the list below that fits where you want to go. | Fully train the skill plan listed for that bursary. | Where required, fly the role in a University fleet and keep your proof (battle report, killmail or fleet link). | Submit your claim. The first pilots to complete a bursary each period receive the reward. |
Each bursary has a limited number of slots per period. Slots go to the first pilots to complete the requirements, not the first to sign up.
The period listed for each bursary is a repeating interval, not a deadline. At the end of every period, all slots for that bursary reset and open up again, so new pilots can claim it. For example, a bursary with a 2-month period and 10 slots pays out to up to 10 pilots every 2 months. If the slots are full, keep training: you can claim in the next period.

PvP bursaries
Scouts
Period: 2 months · Slots: 10
Good scouts make or break a fleet, and we never have enough of them.
- Train: the [PVP] Scouting and Tackle skill plan, with a racial interceptor of your choice.
- Fly: scout in an interceptor for at least one University PvP fleet.
- Reward: 3 fitted interceptors + a faction tackle care package (faction scrams and points).
BLOPS hunters
Period: 3 months · Slots: 5
Hunters find the targets and light the cyno for Black Ops fleets. Cynosural Field Theory V is a long train, which is exactly why we want to reward it.
- Train: the [PVP] BLOPS Hunter skill plan, for the Manticore or the Nemesis.
- Reward: 5 fitted hunter stealth bombers.
Logistics cruisers
Period: 3 months · Slots: 5
Logistics Cruisers V keeps cruiser fleets alive, and the skills carry over into many other activities.
- Train: the [PVP] T2 Armor Logi Cruiser V or the [PVP] T2 Shield Logi Cruiser V skill plan.
- Fly: a T2 logistics cruiser in a University cruiser fleet. Proof: battle report, fleet link or lossmail.
- Reward: 1 fitted T2 logistics cruiser + 2 full low-grade anti-jam implant sets of your choice.
Logistics frigates
Period: 2 months · Slots: 10
A shorter train into logistics, and a great way to keep frigate and destroyer gangs alive.
- Train: the [PVP/PVE] Armor Logistics Frigate IV or the [PVP/PVE] Shield Logistics Frigate IV skill plan.
- Fly: a T2 logistics frigate in a University frigate or destroyer fleet. Proof: battle report or killmail.
- Reward: 4 fitted T2 logistics frigates.
Booshers
Period: 3 months · Slots: 5
Fleet boosts and a micro jump field generator on a destroyer hull. Booshers make every fleet stronger.
- Train: the [PVP] Command Destroyers skill plan, with a racial command destroyer of your choice and the bonused T2 command burst of your choice (Shield, Armor, Information or Skirmish). One T2 link at Specialisation V is enough.
- Reward: 2 fitted booshers + 2 mindlinks of your choice.
Mining bursaries
Orca pilots
Period: 3 months · Slots: 5
The Orca is the heart of a mining fleet, but the hull and skillbooks are a big investment. This bursary covers the hull for you.
- Train: the [MINING] Basic Orca skill plan in full.
- Check in: because this is a long train for an expensive ship, send the mining team a short monthly check-in while you train.
- Reward: 1 fitted Orca.
How to claim
To be decided. The claim process (where to submit proof, how skills are verified and how rewards are delivered) has not been settled yet. To be filled in once it is.
Rules
- Slots are limited per period and go to the first pilots to complete the requirements. Each period is a repeating interval: when it ends, the slots reset and new pilots can claim the bursary.
- The bursaries on offer, their slots and their rewards may change over time. Changes are always announced on Discord.
- Bursaries are meant for pilots who are new to the role. Pilots who already fly it regularly, and alumni with main characters outside EVE Uni, are outside the scope of this program.
- Bursaries are there to help you get started in a role. Please fly the ships you receive in University fleets, not elsewhere: that's the whole point.
- Please do not game or abuse the Bursary Program. EVE University reserves the right to deny any bursary claim.
