I dislike PvP and avoid it at all costs. Most of my "gameplay" involves fulfilling my duties as an Orientation Officer or Wiki Curator, and I embrace this wholeheartedly. I have a particular problem with nullsec culture, and Eve "bittervet" culture as a whole, and I am a staunch advocate of learning and living primarily in highsec. That said, I will never discourage a new player from pursuing their fortune where it can best be found. Djavin Novienta
Djavin Novienta is a Wiki Curator and Orientation Officer, a Teacher for EVE University, and the Cariest of Bears.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the game or Eve University, if there is a class you'd like to see offered, if there is a wiki article that needs editing, or just to say hello. I can usually be found in the Student Lounge on Mumble, but you can also contact me in-game via Evemail or on Slack, if you have access.
About My Roles
Wiki Curator
It is my job as a Wiki Curator to make sure that the UniWiki is as accurate, comprehensive, and easy-to-use as possible. I both write new articles and edit existing ones. My particular areas of expertise are Amarr ships, missioning, combat summaries, and general editing/revising. The UniWiki is Eve University's service to the greater Eve community, and so Wiki Curators strive to increase the value of that service as much as possible.
Orientation Officer
Orientation Officers have the role of introducing new members to Eve University once they have been accepted. Where Personnel Officers are the intake specialists of the University, Orientation Officers serve as the face of Eve University to most students. We reach out to new members to ensure that they are settling in smoothly, and to provide them with relevant information. We also act as a contact point for a members' first few weeks in the corporation, to answer any questions and point them in the right direction. If you have questions about how the Uni operates, how to find your place in the Uni, or anything Uni-related, you can contact me or another Orientation Officer. We're here to help.
Teacher
Teachers at Eve University, like all other Uni staff, are volunteers who give of their time to educate both Uni members and non-members. All of our classes are open to the general Eve community, and our class calendar is also publicly viewable. If there is a class that you would like to see offered, we encourage you to request it in the Class Request thread on our forums. Do keep in mind that, because all of our teachers are volunteers, there may not be a teacher with the relevant experience to give a particular class right away, but we do our best to accommodate class requests, so as to provide the best educational experience possible.
About Me
I started playing Eve back in 2011. I played for about 2 years, then took a long break, and returned to Eve in the fall of 2016. Because almost none of my friends from years before still played, and because so much of the game had changed, I chose to join Eve University, and have decided to stay indefinitely. As long-term goals, I hope to become CEO of Eve University and to have a seat on the CSM.
The Cariest of Bears
I dislike PvP and avoid it at all costs. Most of my "gameplay" involves fulfilling my duties as an Orientation Officer or Wiki Curator, and I embrace this wholeheartedly. I have a particular problem with nullsec culture, and Eve "bittervet" culture as a whole, and I am a staunch advocate of learning and living primarily in highsec. That said, I will never discourage a new player from pursuing their fortune where it can best be found. Someday, I hope to become CEO of Eve University and to have a seat on the CSM.

To do
My own personal to-do list. Yes, it's growing faster than I can tick things off it :)
Mining
- Look at the outgoing links from Mining
- And merge Mining Op, Running a Mining Op, Participating in a Mining Op, Mining op security, Shared can mining fleet checklist
- Overview#Setting_Up_a_Missions_Preset: add more details about mining presets (and link to it from Mining)
- Wikifiy Refining, link back to mining (User:Cassiel seraphim/Ore and ice has some lovely tables!)
- Update the Mining pages with the changes in Kronos (barge and exhumer rebalance, and the shiny new Prospect!).
- Explain what "mining aligned" means
- Better differentiation between Mining and Mining Primer for Complete Beginners
Modules and Fitting
- Afterburner Details is a good start, but could use expanding and integrating into the broader Wiki world
- Fitting Modules and Rigs Guide is great, but how about expanding it with the stats of the various modules? And if not, at least update it.
- Module could use some love (add some info about how "Show Info" works?)
- What module variants are (link to tech, tiers and meta levels), high/med/low/rig etc slots, fitting attributes, size, continuous effects/start-of-cycle/end-of-cycle, link to short-cycling (mining modules), what is is cycle time and why is it important, repackaging modules
- Also include ammo, scrips, rigs (incl calibration), and a link to subsystems
- Faction Modules and You and Techs, Tiers and Meta levels and How to Identify Module Meta Level should be merged
- Information about the icons used and where to get them from (meta 0 are manufactured with NPC-sold BPOs, etc)
- Update with the module tiericide information
- Obsolete T2 Modules is probably obsolete with tiericide
- To T2 or Not to T2 needs a better integration with the other pages (or a merge)
- Merge Module Stacking and Speed Modules and Stacking penalties
- And merge in Eve math while I'm at it (it's a good page, and could be linked to from many other places!). This also needs an explanation of skill bonuses (they are additive per skill level, not multiplicative).
- Related class: Fitting Math 101
- Fitting Guidelines should tie into all this (as a starting page to the different race, ship and tank types?)
Module stats tables
- Templates to control the formatting of
- Item tables
- Item tooltips
- External website to output code (but leave formatting up to the MediaWiki templates)
- Website also outputs a comment to tell users where to find the code generator, and a unique string to allow them to replicate the same output, but with updated parameter values
