For that same reason, I do not see the benefit of pruning ship fittings. The main raison d'etre for removing ship fits - a decision on many occasions I have stated my disapproval over - was that the Uni did not have the capacity to keep fits up to date with the many metas of EVE (which I agree, though I saw what I thought was a task group that could've rectified that). Given that like the sites, the fits will be frozen in their context and purpose, I can't see them ever getting "out of date" in the same way as 2013-era general battleship fits did. + | :::::::: Let's not lose sight of our goal: make Wiki pages that will help capsuleers enjoy the Event. After talking to Drebin privately I have made the following decisions: there should be one page for hacking and one page for combat sites; event pages will be marked with {{T|Past content}} after the event ends; fittings on event pages clearly marked as {{T|Past content}} will be kept until next year as they could potentially be used to create fittings for other events. I did say deleted. My mind has been changed (and if I encounter new and more persuasive arguments, I will change my mind again!). This is not the time and place for explaining why I said deleted rather than archived or marked as {{T|Past content}}, but I assure you my intentions were good, true and pure. Temporary Ship Fittings and Guide for the duration of the Event
I approve User:Chris Halsky's request to "...put some tested fits/strats - for the duration of the event. After event it can be stripped of fits and marker that this content is not in game anymore." When the Event is over, Chris or anyone else can remind me to clean up the page. Arin Mara (talk) 18:36, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
Change the organization of the article and some further thoughts
There are 4 combat sites and 4 data sites in total. Currently there is one dedicated page for smuggler hideout but not the other sides. It would make sense to have the lowsec and all space versions of the combat sites in the same article because they are very similar. Hacking sites could be treated in this article here. For them is to note that for the challenge you can warp out after 2 cans and get the warp in reward again. Thus you can gain points more rapidly. Further I think the reward tables could easily be merged which makes it easier to compare which site to pick and also uses less space. It should also be mentioned that you don't lose standings for either side (see patch notes).
Also the confiscated sites appeared delayed i.e. on the 6th (see patch notes). Two scope videos were released in the context of the event. The first video for the first sites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtRiHsI0IXg, the second for the second sites https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VN-V1yOOEJg Also the confiscated sites are clear developments of the original sites as the smuggler structure is destroyed and a new DED structure is added. I made some screenshots of the hideouts to show this: https://imgur.com/a/rZIrSSn It is safe to assume that those things are part of the first "arc" which CCP announced at fanfest. - Hey Erwin. Good to see you again. It's been long since I've taken part in these events, but these sound like good changes. Would these be part of the main page, or as subpages (e.g. Capsuleer Day XIX/Combat sites)? If the rat spawn tables are different enough, the latter is probably more ideal. I will be putting in some style changes to the page, and I'll add those Scope videos you've linked. Thanks! Drebin 679 (talk) 00:07, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah long time no see :) "If the rat spawn tables are different enough, the latter is probably more ideal." The spawn table depends on the side you work for or rather fight: If you work for DED, you run the smuggler hideouts and stargates. There you fight smugglers. If you work for the smugglers (or 'deathless'), you run the confiscated hideouts and stargates. There you fight SARO NPCs. You can easily see the stats for either group on https://everef.net/ by searching or 'smuggler' or 'SARO'. Besides the NPCs you face, the sites are pretty similar to each other. "Would these be part of the main page, or as subpages" I'm not sure. It also depends if these sites will return next year or if this is a one time thing. As you probably noticed, there is already a page for the Smuggler Hideout. I'm not sure what the best structure/organization would be that's why I rather commented instead of creating a bunch of new articles for the other sites. I let the other people who are editing this page (like you) decide and will just fill in the things I can contribute. Erwin Madelung (talk) 05:15, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
