Welcome to EVE University
Welcome to the oldest training Corporation in EVE and home of the EVE Online Wiki. If you are interested in our history see History of EVE University.
What we offer ✅
Free Skill Plans
If you are new to EVE we recommend starting with the E-Uni Basics Skill Plan. It allows new players to quickly learn the skills needed to fly damage-dealing Frigates and Cruisers; this will allow you to join Uni fleets as quickly as possible while you continue training towards more advanced ships.
As a student(?) member, you can reclaim the cost of the necessary skill books through the Uni's Skillbook Reimbursement Program and improve your training speed with our +3 Implants Program.
After these basic plans, we suggest the Pyramid Skill Plan scheme. This has a range of skill plans over 4 levels starting with Fitting and Weapon Upgrades (Level 1) which should be completed before moving on to the higher levels.
All these skill plans are included within the game and can be accessed via the Skills Window.
Daily Fleets
EVE Uni supports a wide range of fleets. Within Discord, our main communications tool, Fleet Commanders (FCs) will post adverts for fleets they will be running and an idea of what kind of ships they are looking for. Whilst there are a few fleets that require higher skill levels, the majority will suit new players. Even if you cannot fly the main ships there are usually support ships that brand new players can fly and FCs are very supportive about helping you get into their fleets.
Alpha-friendly Gameplay
Alpha clones are welcome to join EVE Uni and many of our ships are suitable for Alpha pilots to fly. The only limits are those imposed by the game itself, such as unable to learn cloaking or useful Planetary Industry skills, or fly advanced ships.
Quick Start 🚀
Join our Discord
You will need to download and install Discord, which we use for text and (optionally) voice chat. This will give you access to a wide range of channels covering almost every activity in EVE. Many of our fleets use voice chat for the FC to issue instructions, or for relaxed chatting with friends at quieter times. We also use Discord for our teachers to deliver their classes.
Applying to Join
Follow the steps shown in Applying to EVE University which will allow our Intake volunteers to process your application; they will send you an email in game to the character you're joining with. Please note that all EVE Uni staff are volunteers who give up their time to support our members; we are also an international organisation with players all around the world in different time zones, so we try to approve your application within 24 hours, but sometimes it can take a little longer. EVE is a game where training Patience V is a key skill!
As soon as you have completed the instructions in the email ((more stuff here......)) you will be able to join our fleets and take part in our activities.
Korsiki
Our HQ is in the Korsiki system, and we have a number of structures there including Horizon, where free Flight Deck ships are located. After you have completed the Career Agent missions, we suggest grabbing a Corvette (free in every station) or buy a cheap Shuttle and come over and make Horizon your new home.
Resources 📚
Beginner ISK Tips
We recommend that new players complete the AIR New Player Experience the follow that with the Career Agents who give you missions covering different play styles; these will give you an idea of different types of activities that are available within the game and when completed will give you some starting money and ships.
Once you've joined Uni, many players find the easiest way to start earning ISK (the in-game currency) is to mine asteroids using a Venture mining frigate. Mining is generally a relaxed activity either solo or with others in a mining fleet and Uni supports our miners by buying your ore and moon rocks from you.
Others may want to try Exploration and hack Relic & Data sites, dive into Wormholes or try simple ratting for bounties and loot.
If you like the Player vs Environment (PVE) style of play, mission running in a T1 Frigate is a way of earning ISK and other rewards by completing missions for agents. This usually involves combat against NPCs or Rats, or if you prefer the idea of space trucking, there are distribution missions that involve hauling cargo from one place to another.
Another PVE activity is to dive into Abyssal Deadspace for timed combat against NPCs either solo or with up to 2 friends. Starting at the beginning (Tier 0) learn the different enemies and environments as you progress up to billion+ ISK ships at the top tiers.
If you have heard about the massive Player vs Player battles that happen in EVE, then start by trying PvP activities like Faction Warfare (FW). Join with others in small fleets to attack and defend sites in Low security space or fly solo and try to kill your opponents.
Whatever you find in space, there's a good chance that the Uni Buyback scheme will give you money for it! Using Buyback means you don't have to spend time hauling your loot to Jita when you could be out in space gathering more loot!
Flight Deck Ships
Whichever activity you start with, EVE Uni has free ships on our flight deck to help you start. Whether its mining, exploration, missions, FW, PVP, we have starting ships for you so you can try all these activities - and more - without the financial cost.
Doctrine Fits
As you increase your skills, you will want to fly better ships, and our experts have created a number of Doctrines which are used for different types of PVP fleets. These are available in the Ship Fitting Window in game for you to study and see which skills are you need to fly them. They range from small frigates with EWAR, [[Logistics |Logi]] and Damage Dealers, to cruisers and battlecruisers for bigger fleets.
