A Roaming Scout moves several jumps ahead of a fleet looking for good fights. A roaming scout is utilized only when the fleet is large enough to spare the ships after the +1/-1 fleet safety roles are filled. It is not unheard of for large fleets to utilize two to three Roaming scouts to cover as much ground as possible to hunt down a good fight. In these instances, scouts should have a private communication channel with the FC to not confuse normal fleet communications. Due to the distances roaming scouts tend to be from the fleet, Hero Tackling is not advisable until the fleet is ready to jump in. Tackle frigates, interceptors, and covops ships are the standard for this role. | |||
