Introduction
Purpose of this article
On this page you can find Abyssal Community Fits - created by EVE University pilots interested in Abyssal Deadspace. The aim was to create fits that are capable of running T0 Abyssals without need for advanced piloting, and with reasonable safety. Price of fits was also a consideration, as Abyss is difficult, especially when starting Abyss adventures.
Contents
Each base fit includes:
- Notes: Short notes from person who was testing the fit. Each fit was tested extensively, especially against two spawns that tend to end T0 runs - Skybreaker Disparu Troop and Devoted Hunter.
- Fit itself - click "EFT" on fitting window to get fitting in text format, which can be imported in game. All fits contain recommended ammo, Nanite Repair Paste and correct Abyssal filaments
- Skills - base skill plan which was used for testing the fits. All skill plans are below 1M SP, so it's possible to use 1M SP from Referral Link. With lower skills your safety margin will be lower, but it still might be feasible to have successful runs.
- Youtube link - with video(s) showing runs with specific fit. Do not treat them as definitive guide, but use them to see how others fly specific ship
- Abyss Tracker link - base fits are uploaded to Abyss Tracker, and we did several recorded runs to get feeling about profitability. You can record your own runs using these fit IDs, to help expand the data available. Since upgraded fits might differ from each other, they are not uploaded to Tracker.

Next steps
For most of the fits there are also upgraded versions provided. They were all designed with "Max Alpha" skillset in mind, so there are no Omega-only modules used, or Omega-only skills required to fit them. Upgraded fits might require better fitting skills - you should check the upgrade before buying new modules, if it matches your skills. All upgrades can be bought separately, module by module, as your skills increase and allow you to use them. They are also not 'final' versions - you might find that with your skills some upgrades could be changed or replaced according to your needs, which is perfectly valid approach.

Kestrel
Step I: Abyssal Kestrel T0
Maeden Anthar's notes:
Going to assume the obvious stuff (ensure ammo/repairs/etc) is already covered, so this is fit specific advice
- Always check what you're fighting
- If it's a skybreaker - reload into your faction ammo. And swap back to normal ammo afterwards!
- Setting orbit to 1k has worked for me, I tested with 5k and some rats move fast enough that the bit of extra distance meant missiles were not making it
- Some foes are pretty fast (Attacker Pacifier Disparu Troop for instance) so you might need to "pulse" the heat on your afterburner if you find yourself missing a lot (for me it was around the 7-8k point where it happens). I've found that one pulse keeps me in range long enough to kill whatever it is.
- Blast/ember/spark/strike NEEDLE are fine. But if you ever see a LANCE you need to focus that one first, potentially with a lot of heat
- Speaking of heat, Devoted Hunter is another one where you will be heating a ton
- In my opinion for this fit, on those scary DPS rooms (Needles, Hunters mainly) you should be using heat no later then at half shield
- If you get a load of spark's it can hurt, you might consider a bit of heat

Abyssal Kestrel T0 Skills
This skill list is aimed to provide necessary skills to fly (and survive) with that Kestrel in T0 Abyss. It's the heaviest of plans that we have here, but it's all really needed to ensure you have a good fighting chance. It will fit into 1M SP (if you got them from referral link) - but if you will train it normally, don't be afraid to go into Abyss before you have them all trained. Keep in mind though that you might not be cap stable without Engineering skills.

Step III - Abyssal Hookbill T1
Xanafein's & Chris Halsky's notes:
- You should be able to orbit most enemies at very close range (500m).
- Notable exception to this is Tessera, orbit at close to your max range (which will depend on your skills) 7-10km. You will take massive damage if you get too close.
- You should be able to mitigate neuting pressure from Devoted Knight and Cynabal while in close orbit (500m) by managing/pulsing your rep (Afterburner needs to stay on). Heat your guns if you struggle here.
- Ballistic Control System II (T2 BCS) can be changed to another Crosslink Compact Ballistic Control System (Compact BCS) if your skills give you at least 140 DPS. This allows you to fit a Tech II Shield Booster for increased tank. T2 BCS is needed to reach the DPS threshold on Alpha characters and characters with lower SP.

- With good Shield Skills Faction Shield Booster can be replaced with C5-L Compact Shield Booster. It greatly reduces fit price, and is more dangerous.
- Your target DPS for T1s is 140 - below that you will might have issues with tanky spawns.
Punisher
Step I: Abyssal Punisher T0
Chris Halsky's notes:
Probably the safest of our fits, but requires a bit more flying skills to be effective.
- Tank holds well against everything. Stagger your reps (offset them by half cycle) and forget that anything can kill you
- For easy (lazy) method - Orbit at 2500m, shoot with Multifrequency
- To be more effective - utilize the fact that enemies approach you directly, which improves your tracking - manually moving away from enemies makes you hit better, especially Tessellas
- You can safely approach Cache during a run, which will improve your times - make sure that enemies are still in range, and switch ammo if necessary

Abyssal Punisher T0 Skills
This skill list will ensure you'll do well in T0s. It's quite short, because the fit allows it - with double reps your tank is pretty good, with Amarr Frigate IV your DPS is enough for T0s. When you have these trained, continue Armor/Gunnery skills, to eventually be ready for Retribution.

Step II - Abyssal Punisher T1
There are a handful of scary rooms in T1 with this setup:
- Kikimora+Damavik room can kill you if you're not careful/don't have good enough tracking. IMO kill Kiki first so it doesn't have time to spool up.
- Tessera room is more likely to kill you than anything else. Keep range of at least 11km or so. Be careful about orbit at 10k - can push you through the wall/sometimes pull in range long enough to get a shot off. I usually manual pilot these/overheat ABs sometimes/kite.
- Sparkgrip enemies are priority target when they spawn in groups due to EM damage bonus.
- Orbit battleships very closely, and manual pilot + spiral in to avoid getting hit on approach.
- Some battleships take a very long time (6-7 minutes) to kill if your skills aren't great. Consider overheating guns to get through faster.
- Lucifer Fury should be killed sooner than later when it spawns in group - you don't want to get neuted on this fit.

Rifter
Step I - Abyssal Rifter T0
Chris Halsky's notes:
Below fit is... fun :) It uses Autocannons and low-range, high-DPS ammo. Your general strategy is to get close, web the enemy, and shoot it. Double reps, for double repping power, but still some utilities in medium slots and DPS modules in low slots. Tips:
- Keep your Afterburner and Shield Booster always on, switch Armor Repairer as needed
- Orbit at 500m works against most enemies, except Tesselas - orbit them at 5km
- Most enemies are easy, but some will try to run away - watch out for Abyss Wall
- Web enemies as soon as possible - you can watch when they pass 10km circle in Tactical Overlay
- Devoted Hunter - usual killer of T0 ships - requires both reppers running, and your tank will hold. Orbit him at 500m and you'll be good

Abyssal Rifter T0 Skills
This skill list is enough to rock the Abyss in this weird Rifter. After it's done, Gunnery skills should be your next step, to improve DPS. Since the fit uses mixed tank it does make sense to work on both Armor and Shield for the future - but for T0s it's not necessary.

Fit similar to basic fit - only with T2 modules. Checked on Max-alpha skills - if you can't fit it, check what upgrades from base fit make most sense, and upgrade slowly.

Uriel's original notes:
Strategy
In most rooms you will be able to fly straight towards the gate, let out your drones, while turning on your modules (don't forget!) and targeting the rats as quickly as possible. Pop the cache with your guns so as to keep your drones on targets.
Difficult Rooms
Sansha (Devoted) ____ can be difficult to fight. It is recommended NOT to fly directly at this rat. Instead double click off to the left or right, so as to fly at an angle to them. You want to maintain distance from Sansha/Devoted... if Sansha gets on top of you, OVERHEAT YOUR BOOSTER - you can do this by right clicking and choosing overload - the earlier you do this, the better your chance of saving your ship!
Angels Room: the worst are often named "Lucifer" but this room has a Dramiel usually. This is the 2nd example of when NOT to rush the gate. Dramiels are fast, so you need to get your drones out and on top of this frigate quickly.
Single Drone Cruiser: this spawn is quite good against your drones. Be aware of your drones health, and be willing to recall drones when they start taking damage... cycling your drones away from this cruiser is really your only worry. However it is grave - if you lose your drones, you will die in the abyss!
Skybreaker Room: The question has been asked if this fit can break skybreaker. It absolutely can. Running Tech II drones or Faction drones will make it simple, but it is possible with T1 drones. Play keep away - and overheat your booster if needed. The skybreaker has an active tank, and it can/will break. Creating distance by overheating your prop mod is also viable here, but be careful - small props don't take much heat before they burn out.

- Always check what you're fighting
- AB and both Armor Reppers always on - stagger reps for better effect
- Orbit stuff at 500m, web it with both webs and shoot
- For Skybreaker - after you establish orbit, switch Afterburner OFF - you need to get closer to break it's tank
- If you're in 25km of Bioadaptive Cache - send drones to destroy it
