Not only have you got the interstellar corporations doing crazy business in ore, minerals, modules and ammunition, but you also routinely exhaust our storages for the equipment that's required to even keep you people in the air. I need you to transport something that's vital for your own continued success.
I'm not referring to the capsules themselves or the unimaginably complex electronics that help you interface with your ship. No, this is something much more mundane. We need to replenish our vats of pod fluid, and for that, we need ectoplasm. This way, whenever you visit our fair station, we can drain and replace your capsule if our tests show that its contents have become a little too stale.
Also, should you have a clone contract with any of our stations and later on find yourself inconvenienced to the point of ... well, to the point of death, we want to ensure that we can put you into a new capsule filled to the brim with pod fluid that's proper, fresh and new. Nothing's quite as disgusting as waking up in a brand new body only to realize that it's been plunged into someone else's used pod fluid.
