Quafe is preparing for one of their routine planetside campaigns, and as a premium they want to offer special bottles of the ubiquitous drink.
To be honest, there is nothing special about the drink. It's the same cola, with the same water, color, sugar, additives and perfectly legal trace elements, that you'd find on any civilized planet in the cluster. What's important isn't so much the brand as the bottles themselves . They were manufactured on another planet, so their design is subtly different from what's available where you're taking them, and the labeling indicates their origins. People go crazy for this stuff. I'm serious. This will be hard for a capsuleer to understand, but most people don't even travel that much between the continents on their own planets. To hold in your hand an item that was manufactured in another solar system is an experience that's truly special to a huge number of people. This only works for things like Quafe, mind you. Taking anything this thoroughly familiar and changing it just slightly has a higher excitement freakout value than even if you'd brought in some unknown artifact made by actual aliens. |
