Characteristics
Gallente

Tank
Gallente ships are designed to be Armor tanked and thus they generally have more low slots (so as to fit armor modules) and fewer mid-slots. They can be passively, or actively tanked depending on the situation.

Weapons Systems
Gallente ships favor the use of hybrid turrets.
*Hybrid turrets come in two varieties: blasters (short-range) and railguns (long-range). Gallente ships generally have damage bonuses for hybrid turrets. Hybrid turrets always do kinetic and thermal damage, and use ammunition which is on a sliding scale (with the ammunition that does the highest damage generally having the shortest range and requiring the most capacitor to fire).
Drones
Gallente Ships generally have a relatively large drone bay, allowing them to field larger, and more varied types of drones during a battle.

Some Gallente ships are even specialized as drone boats, having very large drone bays and bonuses to drone damage, tracking, or speed, allowing them, in some cases, to use drones as a primary weapon system.
Electronic Warfare
The Gallente Federation favors Remote Sensor Damping (RSD) as their method of Electronic Warfare, and several Gallente ships receive RSD bonuses. RSDs can be used to force enemy sniping ships to come closer (by reducing their locking range), or to reduce an enemy's locking speed.
