I — and a number of other members of the Federation — believe that the official position we have taken regarding the Amarrian enslavement of the Matari people is far too lenient. We feel that something must be done to eliminate this dehumanizing practice within our lifetimes, and if we are to see action, we must take it ourselves.
Amarr slavers commit atrocities on a regular basis, and while they do not hide this fact, they can hardly be expected to advertise it. We must bring the attention of the masses to focus upon the sheer cruelty of the slavers… even if it is necessary for us to manipulate the facts of the situation to do so. Are you willing to stand with us, to do what is necessary? |
As Things Stand |
---|
While the Gallente Federation officially condemns Amarr for practicing slavery, they fear to take any action that might lead to outright war. Some individuals feel that it is well past the time for mere words, and that action is long overdue. |

You did well with the last task I gave you. A careful leak to my contact at the Scope got us into the news: a minor story about slaves being allowed to starve under Amarrian "care." A minor story! We're going to need a lot more than that to achieve our goals.
So, this time, we're getting a little more high-profile. We have the location of a small, unmanned Minmatar convoy that's carrying relief supplies to an Amarr slave camp. It's the kind of effort that's likely to do more harm than good in the long run. Slavery doesn't look as bad if the slaves are well-cared for. I need you to destroy that convoy; once you're done, I'll have my people arrange something at the scene that points back to the Amarr. After all, they're the ones responsible for this whole mess. I can see you blanching at this: Trust me, it's for the best. But if you really can't bring yourself to do it, well, then let me know and I'll give you something less... distasteful. |

The Scope picked up on the destruction of a certain Minmatar relief convoy, alright, but the story suggested that the whole thing was a military accident. An accident! How dangerous did that convoy look to you?!
Well, anyway, now the public has the idea that the Amarr are just a bit incompetent, that their destruction of a relief convoy was merely overzealous rather than malicious. So now we need to show people how dangerous Amarrian incompetence can be. I need you to take this… er, well, the item I'm about to give you... to <Station>. Leave it in your hangar there, and my contact will see that it makes its way into... well, where it needs to go. The less you know, maybe, the better? |

Finally, we're getting noticed. Egonics picked up the last story — how Amarr standards are so lax that they fed contaminated rations to their slaves. Egonics isn't keen on the Amarr anyway, so they really let them have it.
Here's the thing, though: The food poisoning outbreak affected so many people that it showed up on CONCORD's radar. They've sanctioned a small independent committee to inspect the conditions in one of the slave colonies. Ridiculous as it sounds, they're checking the conditions in which people are being kept as livestock. The ship is due to arrive in <System> soon. Our cause will be better served if it never gets there. Obviously, that will look bad for the Amarr; it might even make people reconsider what happened to the last non-Amarr ship that tried to reach one of their slave colonies. Do you understand what I need you to do? |

Impetus is considering putting out a new holoreel about the enslaved Matari. Now that people think the Amarr would rather blow up CONCORD ships than allow the public to see how slaves are treated, there's talk of a major project, not just a documentary. This is exactly what we need!
News and documentaries are useful, but this would really reach the public. The average person needs things black and white, and that's what holos are for. This is the last thing I'm going to ask of you, and it won't be easy. Since we've drawn so much attention to the plight of the Matari, there's been a news leak: one of the slave colonies has staged a rebellion. Now, the Amarr always respond to rebellion with brute force, so those people are pretty much doomed. But we can save them--at least a good number of them--and still make it look like they all perished, once again at the hands of the Amarrians. And it's unlikely Amarr will even bother to deny responsibility since everyone knows they'd destroy the whole colony anyway. Remember, if you leave it to the Amarr to destroy the colony themselves, those Matari will only suffer further torture and degradation, and then be killed anyway. Can you do this final task for the cause? |

Impetus is the main producer of holoreels in the universe today. In recent years, they have led the development of instant news arrays. Impetus predicts that when these arrays are completed, they will revolutionize the news business. |
