You will see the wiki table tags, copy any task section above where you will be inserting a new one and paste them right before the table tag ends (yours should be written at the bottom, the task table is sortable, don't worry about where it will be positioned afterwards.) then all you have to do is edit the template parameters and you're done.</td>

<li>category = what category your task falls into, there are only three options :

<ul>

<li>wanted : wanted articles (none with the exact subject is currently available)</li>

<li>organizing : typically everything that involves merging, moving, reorganizing, categorisation, etc.</li>

<li>editorial : one or several articles in a cateogry is in need of editing</li>

</ul>

</li>

<li>priority = priority is numerical, from 1 to 9, in which higher numbering means lesser priority.</li>

<li>task = the task name, anything written here will be automatically added to the table of contents.</li>

<li>links = wiki links associated with this task, so people can just click them without ever have to search them manually. For example, if you requested an article about Station Spinning, put <nowiki>[[Station_Spinning]]</nowiki> as the link, even if the page does not exist yet.</li>

<li>taskdescription = description and details for the task and what should people do about it, put as much detail and a basic how-to's as possible.</li>

<li>linkstotask = sometimes, a task is linked to another, for example copying a contents from an article then we have another task to clean up the mess, we should link those two tasks so people know that they're chained.</li>

|taskdescription=The Eve University Wiki is a great way to contribute to the Eve Online community in general. The wiki is also one of the most direct way for you to contribute and share your knowledge to the Uni and the public Eve community. You don't have to be a member of the Uni to start writing articles, and everything counts, as long as it's written properly (see the [[Wiki_How_To_Guide|wiki how-to]] for more detail), and tagged with the appropriate [[:Special:Categories|category]].<br><br>

note : this task is always active, meaning, we will always need new articles! of course, for topics which is not there already :)

|taskdescription=The Eve University Wiki is a big place, sometimes article, well... they got lost, or unfinished and on most cases, outdated. Still thanks to all the awesome people who wrote them in the first place, it won't hurt to expand or improve the articles and update them to the current state of Eve Online. Same as writing new articles, cleaning up and improving articles doesn't require you to be a member of Eve University. Pick one (or several) article you find interesting or in need of improvements, even if it's just minor things, like updating the images, or ship attributes, your contributions are greatly appreciated.<br><br>

Several good place to start, that is if you don't have something in mind and just want to generally tinker stuff anyway, is to visit the :

*[[:Category:Stubs|articles which is too short and in need of a more detailed information.]]

*[[:Category:Candidates_for_Cleanup|articles in need of cleanup due to readability (formatting) issues.]]

*[[:Category:Deprecated_Pages|outdated articles in need of replacement or adjustments.]]

pick one article of your interest as provided when you visit those pages and go ahead and edit the page.<br><br>

note : this task is always active, meaning, improvements are always welcome! of course, please watch where you're stepping... :)

|taskdescription=since the UniWiki now has it's own [[:Category:Ship_Database|ship database]] it is time to go forward with moving the listed fittings on the four basic ship and skills guide to their individual ship articles to improve their accessibility and returning the basic ship guide articles to their original purpose that is as a basic guideline to fit ships based on racial rather than list of fittings.<br>

To do this, go to the [[Amarr_Basic_Ship_and_Skill_Guide|Amarr Basic Ship & Skills Guide article]], select any ship, for example the Tormentor, copy the fits by editing the Tormentor ship subsection, and go to the individual ship articles (you can quickly find the associated ship article by typing <nowiki>http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/</nowiki><i>the_ship_name</i> , so in this example it would be http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Tormentor), edit the fitting section of the article and paste the fittings you just copied. |taskdescription=After the fittings has been copied from all the four basic ships and skills guide, we need to clean up the four articles by changing it's contents to form a list of basic ships generally used in most fleet operations and common professions (such as missioning), ideally providing a link to each individual ships (yes, we have our own individual ship articles for that purpose now) and most importantly write a guide consolidating required information to fit those ships based on races including a how-to, basic ship fitting guide, skills, racial strength, weaknesses, etc.<br>

UniWiki: To-Do List is a good place to start contributing to the UniWiki. Feel free to pick anything from the topics below. Any capsuleer with an EVE Online account can login to the UniWiki and start editing. You do not need to be an EVE University member to start contributing. Your account name for the UniWiki will be your chosen character name.

If you aren't comfortable making your own changes, feel free to reach out to other editors.

Writing

Spelling and grammar changes
When you come across spelling and grammar errors, please feel free to correct them.
Flagging pages that need work
If a page needs some work, but you do not have the time or knowledge to do it yourself, use the {{Cleanup}}, {{Verify}} or {{Update}} template.
Give as much information as you can when you flag the page, so the person working on it knows what they should be doing.
Flagging pages that contain similar information
If multiple pages contain similar information analyze if they should be combined and if so add the {{Merge}} template to all pages concerned.
Candidates for cleanup
These pages should be reformatted or otherwise improved for grammar, typographical errors, organization, readability or formatting.
When you are finished remove the {{cleanup}} template.
Candidates for verification
These pages contain suspect info.
Information should be double-checked and rewritten with correct info if need be.
When you are finished, remove the {{verify}} template.
Needing updates
These pages need an update due to game changes.
Feel free to update these pages.
If it is a file preferably use the Upload a new version of this file option. Keep in mind that this is a slow process. It will not be immediately visible, give it some time.
Once you have updated the page remove the {{update}} template.
Stubs and Unfinished mission reports
These are pages which are either not yet completed or are too short and need more information to be of use.
Feel free to add to these pages to make them into a full page.
Once you are finished remove the {{stub}} or {{Mission stub}} template.
Media to transcribe
Media that needs to be transformed into text, table, or other granular editable form and placed into an article.
Replace media with data format that best fits the article it is in.
When you are finished, remove the Category:Media to transcribe from and add {{deletion|Has been transcribed}}to the media.
Candidates for merging
These pages contain similar information and need to be merged.
Select the page with the most useful information and merge information from the other page into it or create a new page and merge the information from both pages together.
Once you are finished remove the {{merge}} template and redirect all pages to your finished page.
Work in Progress
These pages are being actively worked on by an editor.
Feel free to contact the editor and perhaps you can work together on it.
Once you are finished remove the {{work in progress}} template.
Patch Notes
These are patch notes that need to be integrated into the existing corpus of knowledge.
Any capsuleer can add patch notes to UniWiki.
Projects
These are substantial changes to UniWiki that require expert knowledge, weeks or months of work to complete or are worked on by more than one editor.
Any capsuleer can take on a UniWiki project.

Improving navigation

Good redirects, navigational templates and links help users find information.

Broken redirects

Deprecated pages and Deprecated templates
Review the pages and if they no longer have any relevance you may replace the {{deprecated}} template with {{deletion}} template.
Candidates for deletion
Review the pages and see if there is any useful information to be salvaged from them. If not, then delete the page.
Apply the four eyes principle: if you placed the {{deletion}} template, you should have someone else review it.
