Mission briefing

The next area you'll be scouting is known to be filled with hazardous, radioactive materials. It used to be a waste dump for the Caldari State, but it also contains no mineral wealth at all so it's not a popular attraction for gold diggers fortunately.

I know there is still an acceleration gate inside the area and I want you to make sure it's still functioning and doesn't send you straight into something deadly. It's a dangerous job, but I'm not paying you for garbage hauling now am I. Get to it and report back to me with your findings!

  • No enemies
  • No Structures
  • You warp directly into a cloud. The gate is 60km to the north of the warpin point, activate it to complete the mission.
  • Use a fast ship with an afterburner and a buffer tank (like shield extenders) to get to the gate as fast as possible and before the final wave hits.

Toxic cloud:

  • Waves deal all kinds of damage evenly and occur at 5 seconds and every 20 seconds thereafter, for 10 waves.
  • Every wave has 4 separate damage types.
  • Total unresisted damage starts at about 200 (50 per type) and slightly goes up to about 1400 (350 per type).
  • The final wave will be more than 4000 (more than 1000 per type) unresisted damage.
  • The solution for the average level 2 mission runner is obviously not to get hit by the final wave.

Southbound Blitz:
Geometry itself must smile upon you for this to work.

  • Warp to a bookmark or celestial object that is north of the mission location. Exactly north is ideal, but any angle within 45 degrees of north will still help. (In space, the compass on your HUD marks north with a tiny little ^ symbol; it will rotate as your camera rotates. When you open the Solar System Map, the map camera initially faces north and downwards. If no such bookmark or celestial is available, then you must use a different method.)
  • Find your own name in any chat channel you have joined. Right-click on your name and click "Form Fleet With...". If you're already in a fleet, then you must be a Fleet Commander, Wing Commander, or Squad Commander.
  • Right-click the mission location and warp your Fleet, Wing, or Squad (whichever applies in your specific case) to the mission to within 70 kilometers. If your chosen location in Step 1 is exactly north of the mission, then you will drop out of warp almost on the center of the Acceleration Gate; the greater the angular deviation from north, the further away from the Acceleration Gate's center you will be, but in some cases this will still be within immediate activation range of the gate. Increasing deviations from north will put you at increasing distances from the Acceleration Gate.
  • If necessary, approach the Acceleration Gate at your best speed.
  • Activate the gate and warp to the second pocket.
  • Return to Agent and collect payment.

In the worst case scenario, you'll confuse north and south and you'll land 130 kilometers away from the Acceleration Gate. In this case, warp out of the mission (preferably to a bookmark or celestial in the same direction as the Acceleration Gate, whereupon you can immediately warp the "fleet" back to the mission to within 70 kilometers again).

Mining

There is a very large number of asteroids (91 in total) in the pocket after the Toxic Cloud:

  • 30x Plagioclase (total of 259,119 units, 90,691.65 m3)
  • 16x Pyroxeres (total of 139,845 units, 41,954 m3)
  • 45x Veldspar (total of 1,382,948 units, 138,294.8 m3)

Note that as with all asteroids found in missions, these asteroids will despawn after mission completion if there are no uncloaked players on-grid with the asteroids.
