Mission briefing
I do, in fact, have a little matter that needs your attention. It's rather... delicate.

My corporation recently had a small misunderstanding with a Caldari business rival. Fortunately, after some of our folks met with the Caldari to have a… discussion, our people managed to limp back here; unfortunately, they left the wreckage of the Caldari ship intact, including the ship's log.

Now, it would impact any future dealings we might have with the Caldari if this dispute became known to their authorities. I'm sure they'd insist on petty things like vengeance. So we'd rather that didn't happen. We'd like you to go destroy all evidence of the Caldari cruiser. It can be found at <System>.

So, will you be a pal and do this for me?

The Guristas
The worst enemy is the one who was once an ally. This is a lesson not lost on the Caldari Navy, for it was from within their own ranks that the seeds of the Guristas pirates were born.

The Guristas were founded by two ex-Caldari Navy members now known only as "Fatal" and "The Rabbit." Utilizing their knowledge of the Navy's procedures — and thus its weaknesses — these two renegades have confounded their previous employers for many years with their persistence and ingenuity.

The Guristas cannot totally disown their militaristic origins: among pirates, they remain arguably the most honorable among a dishonorable bunch. Yet spacefarers shouldn't take too much comfort from that fact, or from their amusing bunny-skull logo. The Guristas will still slit your throat if there's profit involved.

Honor, as many have learned, goes only so far when ISK is concerned.

Blitz: destroy the Static Caracal Navy Issue, warp out.

Warp In

  • The "ship" you are tasked to destroy is actually a Large Collidable Structure. Make sure you have these visible on your overview because you might not see it in space.
  • The wave are most likely timed.

Note: Both wave A as wave B have been spotted to spawn first.

I'm so sorry about those Guristas! You're right. I should have said something... but I knew you'd be able to handle it.

Anyway, it seems they boarded that Caldari cruiser before you arrived and took the ship's log. Now they're threatening to turn it over to the Caldari Navy if we don't pay up. We've got enough on our plate at the moment without fomenting open war with Caldari. Amarr'd just love that, huh?

So, we've tracked them to <System>. If you could go and take care of them, I'd be really, really grateful.

Mission briefing
Okay, I haven't been totally honest with you. I'm currently working on behalf of a Covert Ops agent for the Republic Navy.

That Caldari ship? Belonged to a disgruntled military scientist who was going to sell us a bio-weapon prototype. Unfortunately, we had a small misunderstanding over price, and now he's dead. Things happen, you know? I hired you to retrieve the ship logs so we could have a little thing called "plausible deniability" if things went badly. Like they kinda did.

<Pilot>, here's the new plan. First of all, the weapon is useless — the scientist was as terrible a researcher as he was a negotiator. But rumors we whispered into the right ears have got people believing otherwise. This whole operation was about raising funds for Navy Covert Ops, after all. Spy stuff isn't cheap!

Anyway, we need you to meet with the buyer at <System>. Will you do this for me?

Sorry about all the fibs. Please? Pretty please?

The Murky World of Covert Ops
Few have the skills to enter the world of Covert Ops, and fewer still survive long once they enter it. And of those who do survive, rare are those who can claim to be totally sane afterwards.

One of the first lessons in Covert Ops is "plausible deniability"; this, along with the selective use of misinformation, allows a government and or a military entity to distance itself from its spies and operatives should their activities become known. Paradoxically, though, while every government and military organization requires Covert Ops to survive, it can be extremely harmful to admit such groups' existence, at least without a feasible back-up story — a story usually provided by the covert agents themselves.

At times, the distance between a Covert Ops agency and its parent organization can become so byzantine that funding can present a dangerous optic. When that occurs, operatives may have to raise funds themselves, in ways only they can...

Through no fault of your own, the buyer was destroyed in a Gurista ambush. Yoy should return to your agent.
Agent message at hand-in:
Congratulations, <Pilot>! Not only have you done the impossible, but you've made me 100,000 ISK in a side bet! My partners thought you'd die long before this! Thanks a bunch! Here's your reward, and a little extra besides! Don't spend it all in one place, champ.
