Judging
The goal of the judging process is to determine who should receive each prize:
- Excellence prize, from 1st to 5th place
- Participation raffle, PLEX tier and ISK tier, can only be recieved if an editor hasn't received an Excellence prize
Only those editors that made a well intentioned concerted effort to improve the Wiki are eligible to recieve a prize.
Judges
Judges are members of the Wiki Department, the Event's Patrons or reputable capsuleers invited by the Wiki Manager.
- Wiki Manager - shoulders the burden of making final judgements, judging intentions, resolving ambiguity and awarding prizes - deliberates after other Judges
- Wiki Curator - gives prize recommendations and evaluates an editor's excellence (see #Judging process)
- Event's Patron - gives prize recommendations and evaluates an editor's excellence (see #Judging process)
- Reputable Capsuleers - gives prize recommendations and evaluates an editor's excellence (see #Judging process)
Restrictions and exclusions
- Wiki Curators, Wiki Officers, the Wiki Manager and the Event's Patrons are ineligible to receive prizes
- Work on articles listed in the Category:EVE University or its subcategories are excluded from being judged - delete them from the edits table
Judging process
Judges will consider the totality of an editor's work during the Event, not just edits.
Judges make their judgment known by writing a comment in their named green comment box. For example, User:Salartarium will make comments in the green comment box called "Salartarium's comments".
Judges' comments are freeform but must at a minimum provide answers to how an editor demonstrated excellence. Judges should answer these questions for each editor:
- Completed a Wiki Project, a task from the UniWiki:To-Do List or UniWiki:Patch Notes? - working on these shows an editor is willing to do what's important
- Made use of User Namespace? - drafting changes in the User Namespace shows an editor is well organized
- Made or improved a template? - templates are tools that can be leveraged by others
- Followed UniWiki:Manual of Style or UniWiki Ideals? - style and ideals are what bind all UniWiki users
- Shown confidence or deferred judgement? - being bold, ambitious, yet knowing your limits shows good judgement
- Communicated and cooperated with others? - helping others reinforces the editor's own knoweldge
- Wrote expressive edit summaries? - the bigger the change, the more expressive the summary should be
Communication channel use
UniWiki uses a variety of channels for discussion and communicating with UniWiki users. When judging, consider how the editor communicated, cooperated and helped others.
- Talk Pages have been captured as edits in the table of contributions.
- During the Event, no one used the UniWiki Forum.
- If the editor used EVE University Mumble, Judges will note it in their comment.
