(Updated the skills for Caldari Starter Characters: Mechanics III is also trained to III on new caldari characters. Therefore, Mechanics III is part of the base skills of all characters and no longer a Minmatar/Amarr/Gallente specific thing. It is a prerequisite to Salvaging by the way, so there was no way Mechanics III was an empire specific thing since Salvaging is trained on all characters.) |

Skills by category |
New characters in EVE start with around 400k skill points with the following skill levels trained. This represents a considerable increase to the past, when (before the Vanguard expansion in September 2015) characters started with around 55k skill points. The higher level of starting skills allows brand-new characters to access a wider range of activities in EVE from the start.
