This guide explains how to quickly gain Faction Standings without (or at least less) the need for endless mission grinding. While this guide uses Minmatar standings as an example, the method describes here works for all factions. This guide will be particulary useful for pilots wishing to join Factional Warfare, which requires +0.0 faction standing.

One of the best ways to gain Faction Standings is to run the Sisters of EVE Epic Arc - Blood Stained Stars. This arc of 51 missions provides you with an impressive +0.7 (+0.875 with Social) to the empire faction of your choice with no derived standing changes. You can repeat the SoE Arc every 90 days.

Career Agents Missions are comprised of five agents that provide you a set of beginner missions, linked to the five careers - Exploration, Enforcer, Soldier of Fortune, Industrial Entrepreneur and Industrial Producer.
COSMOS missions are special missions you can only do once. They are geared towards faction standings. The COSMOS missions can be found in:

The Minmatar highsec COSMOS mission in Nakugard contains two parts with light combat. The difficulty of the mission is very low and can be easily handled by day 1 rookie pilots.
+
Data center missions involve you giving the agent a set of pirate tags. This allows you to effectively exchange ISK for standing. The data center missions can be completed only <em>once</em>. See the main article for more details.

After completing the courier mission you'll receive part two of the chain, which involves killing 3 NPC pirates and destroying a structure.

COSMOS missions can be completed only <em>once</em>. Each agent will offer a short chain of missions where the last mission gives standing bonus similar to storyline missions. To speed up the process most of the items required for the missions can be acquired beforehand.

After completing these missions your standings will have increased by around 0.03 points. This seems a little but as faction standings go this is a significant chunk. Now we go to the data center missions!
+
However COSMOS missions require you to have high enough standing (either corporation or faction) to accept the missions so only few of them can be used for repairing below -2.00 faction standing.

The Data Center missions are mostly missions where you hand in pirate tags (you can loot these in missions and buy them on the market). Basically, it allows you to convert isk into standing. Remember, you can talk to each agent only once! The Data Centers can be found in:

The system with most agents is Emolgranlan, which is also closest to Nakugard. Once entered the system, warp to the Data Center beacon. Talk to agent Rilbedur Tjar, who is floating inside a small structure in space. He will offer you a courier mission which involves transporting a Minmatar Graduation Certificate to him. After completing it, you'll receive a 0.36% faction standings increase, and you will be referred to an agent named Pinala Adala in Eram IX - Moon 4 - Sebiestor tribe Bureau. After this agent, the only missions that remain are the Keeping Crime In Check mission where you turn in pirate tags (Angel Copper Tag for example) in return for standings.

The agent in Eram Pinala Adala, offers you the five part mission chain Shaman Secrets. These are three combat and two courier missions. I was again able to do these in an underskilled Atron (Gallente Frigate). Note that for the fourth mission, you are not given an exact location to go to. Instead, you're supposed to decypher that it should be Eram IV - moon 2, based on hints given this mission and the previous one. You'll also need to shoot the neon sign to get the gate key, and you'll get a side mission which gives 0.1 points of faction standing! Read the Shaman Secrets guide (see below) for more details.

After going through all these steps (the Data Center missions excluded, but COSMOS and the certificate mission included) you should have gained around 0.17 faction standing. You can further increase this by the tag missions, regular missions, or factional warfare. When turning in tags - pay close attention to the price. For example, while copper tags (for the most easily accessible agent) cost 1.5mil each, the bronze tags (for the slightly higher quality agent) only cost around 50K. Selecting the right agent (this MAY take standings with that agent's corp) can save you a lot of ISK.

This guide explains how to quickly gain Faction Standings with the four major empires without (or at least lessen) the need for endless mission grinding. This guide will be particularly useful for pilots wishing to join Factional Warfare, which requires +0.0 base faction standing (before skills).

Sister of EVE Epic Arc (Repeatable)

Main article: The Blood-Stained Stars

One of the best ways to gain Faction Standings is to run the Sisters of EVE Epic Arc - Blood Stained Stars. This arc of 51 missions provides you with an impressive +0.7 (+0.875 with Social V) to the empire faction of your choice with no derived standing changes. You can repeat the SoE Arc every 90 days.

Career Agents

Main article: Career Agents

Career Agents Missions are comprised of five agents that provide you a set of beginner missions, linked to the five careers - Exploration, Enforcer, Soldier of Fortune, Industrial Entrepreneur and Industrial Producer. While the Career Agents are unrepeatable, each empire faction has three sets of five agents and can thus be used to quickly raise your Faction Standings with your desired faction.

Data centers

Main article: Data centers

Data center missions involve you giving the agent a set of pirate tags. This allows you to effectively exchange ISK for standing. The data center missions can be completed only once. See the main article for more details.

COSMOS

Main article: COSMOS

COSMOS missions can be completed only once. Each agent will offer a short chain of missions where the last mission gives standing bonus similar to storyline missions. To speed up the process most of the items required for the missions can be acquired beforehand.

However COSMOS missions require you to have high enough standing (either corporation or faction) to accept the missions so only few of them can be used for repairing below -2.00 faction standing.

"Circle" Missions

Main article: Circle Missions

Circle missions offer the player small cargo courier missions and when completed, a referral to another Agent in the group. That Agent then refers the player to another Agent who also refers the player to another Agent, etc. Eventually, the player will end up back with the original starting Agent. The 4 major Factions (Amarr Empire, Caldari State, Gallente Federation, Minmatar Republic) each have their own group of 5 to 8 Circle Agents located in high security systems. One to two Agents in the group will give a once-per-character Faction Standing increase.

Faction Warfare

Main article: Faction warfare standings

Being promoted in faction warfare grants a solid amount of Empire Faction Standings. Promotions are linked to your standing with the NPC Militia corporation (for example "State Protectorate" for Caldari) and can be increased by completing agent missions for the corp, and for capturing complexes. See the main article on Faction Warfare standings to get an understanding on how participation will impact your standings.

Regular Mission Running

Main article: storyline mission

Every sixteenth completed Mission of the same level for the same faction will generate a storyline mission of the same Level. Blitzing Level 4 Security Missions will help you speed up their completion and gain you more storyline missions.

Tips and tricks

 • Avoid accepting Missions against another Empire Faction. Example: The Gallente Federation wants you to fight the Caldari State? Simply decline these type of missions.
 • There are several service providers around New Eden that offer to improve Faction Standings for you by e.g. running missions or Epic arcs for you in exchange for ISK. All you need to do is fleet up with another pilot and they will share standings with you.
